I am a first time mom to a 10 week old daughter. I am looking for new mom's in my area. We delivered at a hospital in the eastern suburbs, so all the new mom's I've met are from that area.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Today my daughter and I met a mom and her little girl from the Prior's Lake Mom Group. We will also be meeting with some other new moms in the Burnsville area sometime in November. Thanks to everyone for all your answers!

Good Morning K.,
My name is M. and my 10.5 month old son Lincoln live in Lakeville. I've been a stay at home mom since he was born. We're part of a moms group (all delivered in November 06 at Fairview) only getting together once a week. But we're always looking for new friends to go out and do things with. We like doing lots of kewl things parks, zoos, malls, etc. We'd love to have a play date some time. Feel free to contact me anytime. My email is ____@____.com
Congrats on your daughter and being able to stay home with her, it's so much fun. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi K.. Congrats on your little girl and being able to stay home. It is a wonderful thing to get that chance for a while. I am part of a group of moms that have many different things to do and it's a lot of the southern suburbs from Apple Valley to Prior Lake. Here is the website, just check it out and see what you think. These women and their children are wonderful people. http://moms.meetup.com/1865/

Hi K.,
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!! I don't know if you are looking for day or evening, but at Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville they have MOPS groups that meet during the day and evening. The morning groups are 9:30am - 11:30am the first and third Thursday or second and fourth Wednesday and the evening is 6-8pm first and third Thursday. There are lots of other MOPS groups in Burnsville as well. If you look on the website www.mops.org and then look under groups and find a local group you will see them all. The thing I like about MOPS is that you learn some great information as well as have other moms around to help support you, have playdates and moms nights out. Good luck!!

Hi, K....

I have a 14 month old and am in Burnsville. We moved here just before Christmas last year. I just started going to MOPS. It is a group for young moms. The one I go to meets at our church here in Burnsville on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 9:30-11:30. They provide childcare during that time, or you can bring the baby into the group with you if she is quiet or sleeping. Each meeting there is a speaker of some sort, brunch, often a craft (the first week we made beaded bracelets), and just some time to connect with the moms at your table. They also do special things once a month or so--this month is "Date Your Mate" (a dessert for you and your hubby), next month is a Moms Night Out at Lets Dish. There is a cost per semester to cover food, materials, and such, but there are scholarships available if that is something that would hinder you from coming. I've found it has been really good for my heart--while I love being a stay at home mom, it can get lonely at times...this has been a great blessing in meeting some other moms. Feel free to email me directly if you'd like more info or if you just want someone to chat with who's here in Burnsville.
Blessings!
V.

K.,
There is a free walking group/class that meets at the Burnsville Center every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. It's a fun way to meet mom's, exercise, and get some shopping in when class is completed. All you have to do is show up! They even give you couponds and rewards for attending the classes. I hope to see you there! A. B
