I just started my maternity leave (due at the end of September) and I have a 17 month old daughter. I am not going to be returning back to work, and am looking to join a mom's group to keep me company now that I am officially a stay at home mom!! (woo hoo!) I live in Lakewood, close to Bel-Mar. Do any of you wonderful ladies out there know, or are in a mom's group in this area? I would love to join!

What can I do next?

Congratulations on your new baby-to-be and being able to stay home! :)

There is a day and night MOPS group the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month at Foothills Bible Church (C470 and Bowles - you can see the church on the West side of C470!). The day group is very big, but the night one isn't. They also have a playgroup every Wednesday morning at the "Shed" (the smaller building to the South of the main building). It is from 9:30-11:30 and the kids can play in the large gym area while the mom's chat and get to know each other!

There are also a lot of groups on Meetup.com. I am a member of few of them and they have lots of playdates, mom's night out, and family activities throughout each week. OR, you can always start your own!

Good luck and God Bless-
C.

I'm part of a meetup group. I think it is new mommies of lakewood. I'll find it and send it.

I have a 14 month old, and live by Belmar, if you ever want to meet for a walk or sometime. I work from home.

Congrats on #2 and your decision to stay home.

There is a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group that meets at the Bear Valley Church (Jewell & Old Kipling) facility. I don't know any of the specifics but can ask my friend who attends there, if you like.

There are a number of MOPS groups in the area. I kinow their is one that meets on Alameda. You can look at the MOPs International web sight for the groups in the area. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It is a great support group to get in with!

First, congratulations on the new baby! I am the Co-coordinator for my MOPS group at West Bowles Community Church. It's technically in Littleton, but not to far from where you live! We are off C-470 and bowles and we meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday beginning in September. We would love to have you. If you have any questions, my email is ____@____.com. Congratulations again!
