Seeking Female Pediatritian for My 4 Year Old Daughter

My insurance is changing come Jan. to Blue Cross/Blue Shield EPO (which falls somewhere between a HMO and a PPO).
My daughters pediatrian recently passed away so now seems like a good time to transition her to a female doctor.
As a child my brother and sister and I all saw our family GP who was a man and we never thought anything of it. Now that I have a daughter, people are always telling me that she should have a female doc. I do think that as she gets older it might be more important. I would want a dr. that has ties to Childrens Memorial and that is either out of Central Dupage or St. Alexius since we are located in Carol Stream.
So does anyone out there have a peds dr. that fills this criteria?

What can I do next?

Hi P.!
I take my daughter to Drs. Rhonda Williams and Dr. Marie Coijin at Stratford Pediatrics on Gary and I think Scott Drive near the mall. It is in the Central Dupage Medical Building that backs up to Gary. They are both wonderful. We've had Dr. Williams for 12 years, and Dr. Coijin for about 4 or 5. Good Luck! Kathy

We go to Wheaton Pediatrics. They have 9 doctors and 7 are female. I love Dr Monson the best, but all the doctors I have seen there are wonderful. All the doctors are on staff at Childrens Memorial and CDH.

Here is there website: www.wheatonpediatrics.com

They have been our pediatricain since my oldest was born.

Good luck.

L.

Hi P.,
We go to Dr. Deb Rosewell in Hoffman Estates - Higgins & Barrington Rd. There are 4 doctors and 3 are female plus 2 female CPNP. The # is ###-###-####. We've been with them for 5 years and very happy. Good luck!

Despite what some people might say, Dr. Deborah Santo in Elk Grove is so wonderful with children! I have been taking my twins there since they were born and she is just the best! I know she might be a little out of the way for you, but you should keep her in mind. There is another doctor in the practice, Dr. Sarah Pae...she is so sweet with kids. She has 3 little ones of her own. There is another lady on here that is trying to "bad mouth" Dr. Santo, but truthfully..I can't see how any of it is true. I have never had a problem, nor have any of my friends that go there. I hope you keep her in mind. :)

You can try Wheaton Pediatrics. There are several Pediatrician there, (I just moved from Cook County and both of my children's Pediatrician was out of Christ Hospital; I like the Pediatrician at Wheaton Pediatrics so much better). Dr. Peggy Marcus is one of the new Pediatrician there, and she is extremely through.

Good luck, finding a new Pediatrician that you like and trust is difficult.

I was going to recommend Dr. Rosewell's practice also. My children both usually see Dr. Joy Silver. But Dr. Rosewell is great, and I love Meredith one of the nurse practitioner. The nurses are great there too.
