Looking for a Great Pediatrician for My 2 Year Old and New Baby on the Way.

We will be moving back to Naperville from CT in May. I am in need of a wonderful pediatrician for my 2 year old and the new baby on the way. I would love a dr. who is caring and will not rush me out of his/her office. Someone who is patient great with kids since my daughter is already so afraid of going to any doctors. I would prefer someone in the Naperville area but will go to close suburbs if it is worth it. I would prefer if the waiting room isn't always packed full of sick kids but I know that is not always possible. My daughter seems to prefer women doctors unless the guy is super nice. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

We go to Naperville Pediatrics on Martin Street, right next to Edward Hospital. My kids have NEVER been afraid of the Doctors there. My kids main pediatrician is Dr. Kuchadker. He is this short little doctor who is so sweet and doesn't get excited about anything. He is awesome with my kids and answers all my questions and more. The other doctors Dr. Luwanda is a sweet woman. The kids like her also as well as Dr. Rubin who is also awesome. He is excellent at explaining things to me. Hope this helps.

H., We got to Dr. Danial Schulman in Batavia. He is wonderful. He also has another doctor in his practice. One of the things we love about him is that he doesn't talk "over" the kids. He gets them talking to him and explains not only to you but to the child what the problem is or how to fix it. He makes them laugh. We have been goign to him for almost 20 years. We started going to him when our daughter was 6 and the other children were newborns. He had not been out of med school for very long at that point. My kids have grown up with him and we couldn't think of going to anyone else if we had more children. He does cut them off at 18. he does the college physical and then refers you to someone else. My daughter who is 27 is taking her children there now. the office phone is ###-###-####

Children's Health Partners have been my family's pediatrician for 5 years, we LOVE them ###-###-####.
Dr. Sherer is the doc we normally see for wellness visits but all 6-7 women are amazing. Dr. Peirce is a little cold but she's a great doc so still worth it.
Love them, totally recommend them, they are located on Book and 95th, I'm saying they're worth the drive if you're in the Northern area of Naperville.

We go to Wheaton Pediatrics in Wheaton. They have about 6 doctors and 2 physician assistants. They have sick call appts for Sat and Sun, and they have a seperate room for sick children to wait.

All the doctors are great, but I really love Dr Monson. She is a female doctor, and is always very patient, caring, and does not rush you out the door.

We go to Kids First Pediatrics in Plainfield (we live in south Naperville). There are 2 pediatricians--Dr. Kristine Liberty and Dr. Steven Kovar--and they are both wonderful. Both are parents of young children and are excellent with my kids. Dr. Liberty has a very gentle, calming manner. Also, the nurses and office staff are all friendly, caring and professional. The waiting room is extremely clean and usually there is just one other family waiting for their appointment. Typically we wait no more than 5 minutes for our appointment. Both of my kids (2 & 4) really like the doctors and are not fearful AT ALL to go their appointments.
Their office number is: ###-###-####
Good luck!

I third ABC Pediatrics. We have been with them for almost 5 years. Our primary dr is Dr.Law. She is caring, patient and listens. What I like about the practice is that you always see your primary doctor for well visits and they try to offer you a slot with them first for sick visits. If the time doesn't work for you or it's their day off you can choose another doctor. We have seen all the doctors at one time or another and my kids love them all. They also have a phone nurse whom you can call into with questions about anything from sunscreen to illness. It is a cheerful, clean clinic. We love the nurses as well. Check out the website
www.abcpediatrics.net. They also set up appointments to see the clinic and meet the doctor as well. Feel free to email me through here if you have any other questions. I work in Early Intervention and regard them highly as a professional as well as a parent!

We use Naperville Pediatrics. There are three doctors in the practice, one woman and two men. All good and great at answering questions in the office and calling when you need them too. There is a well room and a sick room, which I love!! They are by Edward Hospital on Martin. Their number is ###-###-####. I have always found them to be caring and helpful. My oldest, which is 15, still goes there. My youngest is now 6 and has gone to them since birth.

We have loved Dr. Michael Reicherts, 4043 S. Route 59 in Naperville.

There is a well child waiting room and a sick child waiting room, although we've never waited more than a couple of minutes in either.

I love that Dr. Reicherts can goof around with my son (13 months) and then switch gears and talk to me as an adult. I've never felt rushed when we've met with him. While he takes any concerns I might have seriously, he isn't an alarmist and isn't going to push for tests or medications that are unnecessary.

Welcome back to the area...and good luck with your search. I actually created a spreadsheet for all of my pediatrician recommendations. I started out with 20 names and narrowed it down!

We go to Naperville Pediatrics and see Dr. Lawandi. She is WONDERFUL. There are 3 doctors in the practice. Dr. Kudchadker would be my second favorite and is great with kids. It is very easy to get in for "sick visits" as well. We live a half hour away and make the commute. It is worth it. One of the reasons I like the practice so much is that they only medicate when necessary. Also, as far as immunizations are concerned, they give fewer per visit and have you come a little more often. GREAT, GREAT, practice. I would give them a try.

Any one at ABC Pediatrics in Naperville. they are located off of 75th and Richert Rd. it is a practice with 5 doctors working there, male and female staff. they conduct an interview to fit you with the best doctor for you and your child. each visit is 45 minutes regardless of visit, in other words they set aside the time for you to be able to answer any questions you may have without feeling rushed. we have had both the male and female doctors there and everyone is wonderful with my son. we have been there since my son was 18 months old ( we came from another practice that was not to our standards of care). they have a website and thier phone number is 1630.###-###-####. good luck.

Hi H.! I highly recommend Dr. Shanks or Dr. Law at ABC Pediatrics. http://abcpediatrics.net/ They are located in Naperville. If you move here before you give birth, they are associated with Edwards Hospital in Naperville which is a wonderful hospital. That is where my daughter was born and the experience was great. Sr. Shanks is our primary doctor however when my daughter had an ear infection last week, Dr. Law saw her and did great as well. Of all the times we've been in there I would say only 2-3 other kids are in the waiting room, so not a lot of sick kids playing together. They also have a seperate entrance for kids with rashes or anything they consider contagious - which was a big selling point for me. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Good luck on your move and your new baby!

We see Dr. Cynthia Ambler at Wheaton Pediatrics in Wheaton. Wheaton Pediatrics is a large practice group, which has pros and cons. The pros are that they have a large, clean, new office space with a seperate waiting room for sick kids vs well kids, and you can always get a same day sick call appointment with someone (although not usually your first choice doctor.) The cons...well, there have been times when I've debated whether or not we should switch but I've always stayed with them. Basically, ther care is excellent, but as a parent, you are the one who really has to be on top of things, and I think that might be true anywhere. The doctors there all have fabulous credentials and they admit to Central DuPage Hosp and Children's Memorial downtown, which is a nice thing to have if you really need it. They have "meet the doctors" nights for new parents every couple of months so you could check their website and attend one of those if you are interested in more info. Welcome to the area!

Here's a third BIG thumbs up for Dr. Reicherts and Dr. Pera in Naperville on Rte 59. Both of these guys really take the time to truly check the kids out and speak to you about any questions or fears you have. They are FABULOUS. They also just added walk in hours M-F from 8-9:30 for non-emergency visits for established patients. My husband took my 3 y old to get checked for ear infection this morning and was seen in less than 5 mins.

I absolutely LOVE our doctor, Dr. Kinsella. She's actually a family physician, which I like because I go to her, too and she knows everything about our family. Her husband, Dr. Stallter, is in the same office, so that's good for my husband. There's also a third doc, Dr. Ufferman, in the office and she's great too, just in case you can't get in to see Dr. Kinsella. Dr. Patricia Kinsella-Stallter with Fox Valley Family Practice, ###-###-####, on the corner of Eola & Indian Trail. All the docs are great with kids, they all have their own, and they don't rush. I also love that after not seeing my son in over a year (we moved to MN and now are back) Dr. Kinsella remembered us! You don't find that too often. Good Luck with your move!

Dr. Christine Liberty and Dr. Kovar. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL ! They are w/kids first pediatrics in the new Edward building B off of 127th st. ..it is considered plainfield, but they work for Edward hosp.) They are also one of the first doctors referred if you go in the ER at Edward. I have two older daughters who always saw a different dr., but in the past year switched because of all the great things I have heard. They take as much time as you need with them. No rushing. The same staff every time which I think is important to children and I have NEVER waited longer than ten min. to receive a call back from the dr. or nurse. I don't have the num off the top of my head, but if you google, it comes right up.

I second Dr. Michael Reicherts. We just went through an insurance change and had to leave our previous office (Wheaton Pediatrics, also good). My then 22 month old son was absolutely petrified of doctors. One time I had to take both kids in (my daughter was 4 at the time) and Dr. Pera in this office had her giggling so much, my normally petrified son was yelling, "My turn, my turn!!" I was amazed at how wonderful they were with my kids. And as another poster mentioned, these doctors have a knack for joking with the kids while giving a thorough exam and also talking seriously with the parents. I truly couldn't be happier with this office!
