Seeking Female OB/GYN That Delivers at Rose Hospital

Okay, now that I have received several responses to my last question about gaining weight in my 2nd pregnancy - I want to know if anyone knows of a good OBGYN in the Central/Denver area that delivers at Rose Hospital? I had my first son there and loved the hospital stay, rooms, nurses, etc. It's not exactly close to my house (I live in NW Denver) but it's close to my job and it was close to my first OB doctor's office. I had to switch OB's for this pregnancy and I'm not 100% pleased with the new doc. Also, the office is located on Alameda & Leetsdale which is a little too far East for me. My first OB was on Speer & University. If I cannot find someone that I'm comfortable with I'm thinking of just switching hospitals and finding a doc that delivers at Exempla Lutheran since it's closer to home and I've heard nothing but good things about it. Thanks again moms!

Go to Midtown OBGYN... they are amazing!
Their office just moved to Rose.

I see Dr. Barta, but all the other docs are great.
They deliver at Rose or St Joseph.
All my friends and co-workers go here and ALL of them love them!

I have been with the same OB for 23 years and just cannot imagine working with any other office in the world. Now my doc, Dr. Zarlengo, is male and amazing however, one of his female partners is fantastic as well. There are other female doctors in the office but she is the one I liked best. Her name is Dr. Cristee Offerdahl. I think that there are 6 doctors at this office to choose from and the whole place is just amazing! I must say though I was not as crazy about Dr. McCrann, she and I just did not click as well but I have two friends that like her. They have just moved their office, they used to be next to St. Joe's but I believe they moved next to Rose (I haven't been to the new office.)

Dr. Zarlengo from that office is head of OB at Rose and I just cannot say enough good things about the practice. The website is www.mymidtownobgyn.com. Good luck!

HANDS DOWN...go see Dr. Mary Wilkerson at Oasis Family Practice. She's been my doc for 12+ yrs & is AWESOME...does deliver at Rose. She's a Family Doc, too, so she can be your baby's pediatrician as well ;O)
Good luck!

I went to Hal Levy at Rocky Mtn OB/GYN. The office is attached to (across the street from) Rose. There is another doc there I loved too...Yuko D'Ambrosia. They were really great, very laid back.

My OB is Cristee Offerdahl. I cannot say enough about her. I started out with Rocky Mountain OB (Dr. Levy) someone mentioned and left, I know several others that left as well. Offerdahl, delivered 2 of my three. Mcrann delivered my first and she was fantastic! I had a miscarriage after my first, so Offerdahl was insistent that she deliver my next 2 which she did. She is very personable, and caring.

I went to Dr. Jennifer Guggenheim at Consultants in OBGYN. Her office is directly across the street from Rose which is where I delivered my second son. Her number is: ###-###-####.
She is a wonderful doctor and was almost like a friend to me through a very difficult pregnancy. Her staff is awesome and I was completely thrilled with the whole experience.
Good luck!

Another vote for Midtown OBGYN, I know they moved and luckily I delivered my last just this last year because, like you I loved the hospital I delivered at, St Joes. I had Dr. McCrann and she didn't have the best bedside manner but she was concerned with my care and ironically she did not deliver any of my 3 . Dr. Barta,#1, Dr.Zarlengo, #2 and Dr. Johnson , #3. I was very comfortable with all three and the other Docs in the practice are good too. Good luck and look into Midtown...

I love my doctor- had two babies under her care. She is experienced and easy to talk with. For example- you mentioned weight gain- when I gained 10 lbs in 4 weeks with my last pregancy, she said, "I don't like to make a big deal about weight gain with my patients, but for most people it is harder to get if off later than to keep from putting it on in the first place. Of course, people gain or stop gaining very diffently during their preganancies, so just try to think about what you are eating and try to limit how often you splurge." End of story- she never lectured me about it again. Her office is connected to Rose:

Of course, I've heard good things about Luteran too. In fact, that is where I was born ;)

Midtown OBGYN is a good practice. I switched to them at 28 wks during my 1st pregnancy and have not regretted it. I have Dr. Barta -very laid back and easy going. There are many to choose from. They deliver at Rose and actually JUST MOVED to a location almost, if not, attached to the hospital. I will be having my 2nd in October and looking forward to the great experience I had at Rose the first time. My dr didn't deliver my first but all the drs I saw were good. Good luck

Jackie Hites, a nurse midwife who is married to an OB/GYN. She started as a labor and delivery nurse. She is great, located across the street from Rose. Very attentive and gives her time. If you need a doctor, she works with many and would have you see one if needed. Tell her L. sent you. She has delivered my 2, and I have one on the way.

HI A.,

I'm very happy with Dr. Usha Varma. She delivers at Rose, has a small office (just her and her two nurses), and they all make me feel special. Dr. Varma has a wonderful bedside manner and believes in educating her patients as much as possible so that they can actively participate in their own care. I found her after being VERY dissatisfied with a previous OB/GYN and snarky office staff. Dr. Varma is on Cherry Creek North (very close to Colorado Blvd) and her number is ###-###-####. She's been practicing for 30 years, and she stays very up-to-date on what's new!

Warmly,
S.

Dr Barta with Midtown is wonderful!! Actually all of the doctors in the Midtown practice are great, but Dr Barta is my #1 pick. They just moved to a new office which is located within Rose Medical center.

Looks like you have gotten lots of references...but I go to Associates in Women's Health, they are located in the office buildings at Lutheran. The practice has 4 or 5 females doctors, I have seen all of them and really like them all. They took excellent care of me for my first delivery, with complications and they have been great for my 2nd pregnancy. Plus I loved the hospital and the care I got there. Good luck deciding!

My children were delivered at Lutheran and it was a pleasent of an experience as birth can be. They have spent tons of money on a remodel so I bet it is even better. I used Westside Women's Care which is located in an office just south of the hospital. There are several docs and midwives there and I was comfortable with most. The first pregnancy I saw the docs and the second I saw the midwives. I liked both and would not tell you I had a preference. The midwife was with me more during the delivery which was nice. I had tons of complications with my second and the midwives never hesitated to get a doc in for advice and procedures they couldn't do.
