Need to Find OB or Midwife in East Denver Area (Stapleton)

I'm new to Denver 8 months and just found out I'm 5 weeks preggers. Any recommendations for great places to get the Prenatal Exams? OB vs Midwifes? I don't have any family here or friends that have been pregnant so no one has been able to give me good recommendations. I live by the new Stapleton development.

What can I do next?

I highly recommend Rocky Mountain OB-GYN. They have an office across the street from Rose Hospital (9th & Colorado Blvd, which is close to Stapleton). I'm a little older - 39 - and had two kids in fairly rapid succession. Both pregnancies went smoothly and both kids were born without any complications at Rose.

Hi K..

I LOVE my OBGYN, Dr. David Forreschner ###-###-####, part of Rocky Mountain Women's Care. He's right on Franklin and 19th, next to Exempla St. Joe's, so very close to Stapleton. I delivered at St. Joe's and also LOVED that facility. It was like giving birth in a hotel room and it's a baby-friendly hospital.

Congrats and good luck!

Dr. Wester (male) and Dr. Mason (female) are INCREDIBLE!! Their offices are by St. Joseph's hospital. ###-###-####. Dr. Wester was named one of the top OB-GYN's in 5280 magazine. Dr. Wester delivered both of my babies and he is truly THE BEST!

K.,

Congrats! I LOVE my OB and would HIGHLY recommend her :)
Her name is Dr. J. Honey Onstad and she is with Mid-town OBGYN on Franklin Street in Denver. Her office is 10 or 15 minutes away from Stapleton.
She delivered my now 6 month old daughter and she was incredibly kind and patient throughout the entire pregnancy and delivery.
Best of luck.

Hello New to Denver,

I am a native of Colorado, I have one son, and recently found out I am Pregnant for the second time. My first Delivery have was At St.Joseph's hospital, if you are going to deliver i would recommend you choose them. As far as Midwife vs Ob... Midwife, because they allocate more time to any questions, and great concerns that you will have every ten minutes... LOL

Congratulations!!!! I would recommend Dr. Gerald Zarlengo at Midtown OBGYN on Franklin St. in Denver. I think he is the best. He delivered both of my boys (now 3 1/2 and 2 years old) at Rose Medical Center. He was named as one of the Top Doctors in OBGYN in the magazine 5280 both years that my sons were born (haven't checked any other years). With that office you can choose between delivering at Rose or St. Joseph. I went to Rose both times and would highly recommend it. Hope that helps! Good luck!

I see Dr. Valerie Ginsburg at Stapleton OB/GYN on Roslyn Street. I have been very happy with her and she was AWESOME during my daughter's delivery (she actually left her nephew's birthday party to attend my delivery). She was more like a friend, coach and voice of encouragement than simply a doctor. I highly recommend her.

The Stapleton OB/GYN office has a very balanced approach to wellness and care. They listen and respect your wishes. I wanted a 100% natural delivery and was skeptical that I couldn't get that with anything but a midwife. I never felt pressured by Dr. G and my birth plan worked out just the way I wanted it to. I couldn't have asked for more.

We also see Dr. Noah at Stapleton Pediatrics who has his office right down the street at 25th and Roslyn. He is INCREDIBLE with our daughter and I can't say enough good things about him. Dr. G delivers only at St. Joe's and Rose Medical Center. Dr. Noah does St. Luke's and Rose. If you want both doctors to attend to you and your baby at one location, choose Rose Medical Center for your delivery.

I really love the midwives at University hospital, not exactly in Stapleton, but close enough and worth the drive! There are two midwifery practices, one has 5 midwives and one has 3, I recommend the one with 3. You can ask for the clinic that does water births (even if you don't want one), I found they understand that more than "the one with 3 midwives" for whatever reason! Also, may I recommend a doula? They can make a HUGE difference in your pregnancy and birth experience. Go to www.birthfirstdoula.vpweb.com or www.DONA.org for more infomation! Let me know if you need anything else!

Sorry for the late response, I just looked at this today! I highly reccomend ny nurse practitioner Cindy Aspromante, she works with an OB group and their office is right in Stapleton.( It's exempla) I have saw her for two of my pregnancies as well as well exams for more than 9 years. I also highly reccomend Rose hospital for your delivery. And of course you will need a doc too and I am sure the Dr's at Cindy's practice are great. ( the dr she worked with and delivered two of my babies had a heart attack and died about four years ago). Good luck to you and congrats on your pregnancy!

I live in that area too and had my baby (now 12 mo :( ) at the University of Colorado Hospital at Fitzsimmons (Colfax & I-225) with the midwives there. I loved the care I got there and the hospital is beautiful.... I agree, Dr. Noah at Stapleton Peds is the best!
