Hello, my husband and I have been doing a lot of research on the potential side effects of vaccines and we have decided not to get our baby vaccinated. Does anyone know of a DAN (defeat autism now) pediatrician in the south bay area? I'm told that these doctors will support your decision to not give vaccines, while other doctors may not want to treat your child if you deny the vaccines. We have health net insurance. Thank you!

What can I do next?

A DAN doctor recently came to speak at my child's school. Her name is Dr. Karima Hirani. She is located in the West LA area. If this is too far, perhaps she can recommend a pediatrician closer to you. Unfortunately, I do not have a phone number. Hope this helps.

S.,
There is no evidence that supports the MMR vaccination giving children Autism. The timing of the shots is what they do have in common however and that’s it. You are putting your child at a greater risk of DEATH when you do not vaccinate. I am a speech and language pathologist who specializes in Autism. I would recommend you think twice and do your research in the areas of children not getting their shots and what happens instead of looking at evidence that is not empirically based or backed up by other reliable research in these areas. Google a search for Europe and a little town (can’t remember the name) that decided to not vaccinate their children and the increased incidence of death for something as simple as the measles and rubella.
Today, most vaccinations no longer have mercy (which is what they say ‘causes’ Aut) and they also have single shot doses if that makes you feel more comfortable.
Another thing you can do is get your child allergy tested before his/her vaccination to make sure they are not allergic to eggs.
Some children have bad reactions to the vaccinations because they are allergic to what is in them.
Good luck in your findings

good morning !

I don't have any referral in the So Bay, however, you might try
either Dr. Jay Gordon in santa monica or Dr. Paul Fleiss in Hollywood ? (off highland???)

Neither of my kids were vaccinated, and the dr. (insurance) I
had was always trying to stick my daughter w/ something, in fact, I think she SNUCK a hepatitis vacc. and never went back.
Dr. fleiss is lovely and they all have to offer but certainly
don't push them. he also has a lovely nurse that know's all
about the homeopathic remedies if you didn't want to use over-
the counter or mainstream stuff, which I didn't prescribe to
either.

Also... don't let people bully you or tell you they won't get
into the public schools, etc., it's all garbage and I'm an ex.
of never receiving any type of innoculation growing up. I'm
healthy and haven't had anything worse than a flu,(I'm 46 now)

So, stand strong and w/ all the info out there about how they're made, what their effects, etc., stand firm... you're
making the right decision... you can always get them later if
you "have" to, but, why poison a perfectly healthy baby w/ such junk, often made w/ animal dna ???

I could go on and on... Waldorf School was my choice of early education for my kids, too. They supported the "whole"
child in all ways, and never even made that a deal, in fact,
I'd say that the majority of parents didn't vaccinate and went
through holistic channels of treatments for themselves and their kids, which made me feel right at home. But, more and
more people are choosing to hold off and you certainly wont' be alone, however, that's BIG $$$, those vaccines, and that's
what makes the world go 'round !

Best,

Michelle Torchin

Hi,
Another opinion from a Speech Pathologist. The research highly indicates that vaccines are not the cause of Autism. I'm sure if you are looking into the research that is trying to prove that vaccines are, I'm sure that's why you feel the way you do. The people that are saying vaccines are a cause are usually people with autistic children. Any conference about Autism in our field indicates vaccines are not the cause. I would look closely into your family history and see what types of behaviors/characteristics people have that may indicate your child will be at risk. Genetics is usually indicated as the cause. Good luck.

It doesn't matter what Pediatrician you use. It is just that most will ask you to sign a waiver saying that you don't want your child to receive immunizations. Whether all of them or just one. Make sure you do your research about all the immunizations, and the effects of not having them also. Especially if you choose to leave the country. I work in a Pediatric office giving immunizations, And I would probably hold up on the MMR immunization until a later age (for my children) but would not omit the others on the regular schedule.

You as a parent have the right to deny any immunizations that you what. Just make sure that if you decide to change your mind later (like trying to enroll your child in school (public or private)) that your child may need to get about 20 immunizations within a short amount of time.

I wouldn't just choose the doctor based on immunizations. There are so many other reasons that you go to the doctor.

Not vacinating your baby is your choice, although many of the diseases it is meant for no longer really excist, do to the fact people vacinate their children. Lets say a person from another out side country comes in, they have polio, your child comes in contact with them, Now what ? now your child has it and any other child who was not vaccinated. Not pnly that when your child starts school the only reason a school district will allow the child to attend school with out the vaccinations is based upon religious beliefs, you have to sign a waver... I have read all there is on autism and the non proof it has something to do with vaccinations, it proves nothing .. in my opinion autism has nothing to do with a foreign chemical injected into the child, until the AMA assc, can give 100 % proof what cases it they should stop giving false reports just to scare future mothers.

You will need to sign a waiver to get your child into school they will not have to get a bunch of shots at once. Any doctor will work because it is pretty common for people not to get vaccines. Sure they will tell you why you should get them, but they will respect your decision.

As a health professional I want to mention there is no scientific merit to the belief that vaccinations cause autism. If you want to hold off on vaccinations that is your right and most pediatricians will support you on this. Just remember though that your decision can affect your child later in life as they grow up and either travel the world, or are exposed to others from around the world where many diseases that are eradicated here are still prevalent. Be careful on your research but as with most things individuals will believe what they want to believe on this subject.

There here are very good peer reviewed published studies that do NOT suggest a causal association with autism and childhood vaccination. However, there are people with anecdotes and a lot of money petuating the crusade. This is unfortunate since childhood vaccination and the prevention and elimination of the associated diseases are among the greatest contributions of the 20th century and have single handedly increased the life expectany of children. You would jeopardize your child long term health because of an unproven myth. That would be sad. You should give this further consideration.

My son is four years old, and he has never been vaccinated. He was just diagnosed w/autism, which shows that vaccines are not the only cause.

He is seeing Dr. Hirani for biomedical intervention. I believe that she is not a primary care physician. However, we have seen regular doctors throughout my son's life. Most do give me a hard time about no vaccines. His current doctor is really good, but I never leave her office without hearing about it.

There is a doctor in Irvine who gives a "safe vaccine" schedule. I think his name is Dr. Lin? I know if you google "DAN doctors", you will find him on the list.

Are you sure that you want to be a carrier for all those viruses and not have your child vaccinated? You are a teacher and will be working with kids that could potentially be spreading disease. They still have not found a link between Autism and vaccines, and no longer have mercury in them which was one of the main concearns. Please make sure your research is current as so many changes have happened in just the last two years. Good luck in whatever you decide.
