Hi! I got an umbrella double stroller (can't remember the brand) that was side by side. The seats individually reclined.

why an umbrella stroller? because of the size! regular double stroller are HUGE!!

I hardly ever used it, however. I usually opted for the regular stroller and the baby in a sling. (I reccomend the Maya Wrap) it was much easier to handle, and I had much more space in the car for groceries and such (we had a small car)

Maclaren makes wonderful ones. We got the Twin Techno for our 2-year-old and newborn. Can't use it until about 3 months though...
I never wanted to deal with the bulk of another kind though. Also, ours fits up to 55lbs. per kid! Easy to use; love it. If doing it over I would pay extra for the model that has the footrest for the baby. These they say can be used for newborns. While a clip and go carseat stroller is nice, for a double stroller they were all too big and heavy!
Now we have ages 3, 2 and a newborn, and the toddlers walk while I click the baby's carseat into a Britax stroller (not great but decent). We don't go out too long! :)

I just got the Graco duo glider about a month ago. My almost 2 year old sits in front, baby carrier in the back for my 1 month old. Its very easy to steer considering how long it is, its not much different than pushing the single stroller. A little tough to get carseat in and out but not impossible. Easy to fold and unfold. I would recommend it.

I bought the Graco double stroller for my two kids who were born 16 months apart. It's great because you can snap the graco infant car seat into the back and your older child can sit in front. The back seat fully reclines for when your infant isn't in their car seat and it also can be used as a regular seat when your baby gets bigger. The seats also have five point harnesses. This stroller has cup holders, snack trays, and tons of underneath storage (up to 10 lbs). It is heavy and large at 50 lbs but I have never seen a double stroller that isn't. I can lift it fine. One of the best features is that you can very easily collapse it with just one hand. When I bought mine it was also one of the less expensive strollers I found. Good luck with your choice and congrats on your pregnancy!

I can whole-heartedly recommend the Graco quattro tour double stroller. We got it last year when I was expecting our second. My first is older than yours, but still loves to ride in a stroller. What I like is that the baby car seat fits right in the back, closest to me, and my older one (she's 4 1/2) can climb in and out of the front if I let her... there is a bar so your toddler would stay in. Also, it steers better than my single. It is a little expensive and heavy, but well worth it - the "sit-n-stand" has no room for an actualy diaper bag, very hard to get to the storage area. We found ours 2nd hand for about $100...some of the best money we spent this time around cuz we're stilling using it and prob will for a while! Good luck!!

Get the ones that have two handle for easy turning. make sure the basket underneath folds without falling apart. My Graco basket, I had to rebuild it every time I folded it up. I am looking for a new one now!

I have an almost 6 year old, a 2 1/2 year old and am expecting my third. We bought a duoglider when my 6 yo was little because we had another kid we watched a lot. When we had my 2 1/2 yo we decided to buy a Sit and Stand. If I had it to do over I would never have bought the duoglider and would only do the sit and stand. The duoglider has hardly ever been used -- it is just too big to be practical. While it does work great, I don't want to lug it places. Plus, my older child outgrew it very quickly (my kids are tall) and was not at all comfortable in it by the time he was 2 1/2.

The sit and stand we still use constantly. It is much more compact which is great for lugging places day to day and for fitting in the car for travel. It also folds very easily and is easier for me to lift in and out of the car. It can hold the infant carrier and still have room for the older child on back. Plus it will last a lot longer size wise -- my almost 6 yo who weighs 55 lbs can still sit on the back to rest while we are out or for occasional short rides if we need him to be (such as in a busy parking lot). I believe we got the "LX" version which is slightly longer -- not enough longer to be bulky but enough to be a little more comfortable for a bigger child in back. There is a belt for the back part or your child can get on and off at will as well which is good for older children.

We love it! Good luck with your purchase -- we are looking at new carseats right now for our third and it is so overwhelming!
