We are planning on taking a short trip this July to San Diego-can anyone give me any info as far as Discount tickets/food deals. I have a 3 and 4 yr old.We are definetly going to Sea World and possibly the Animal Park. Any info would be great-also it will be during the week-NO WEEKENDS! THANKS IN ADVANCE> L.
Hi L., we are planning a vaca to San Diego this summer also and are planning on doing Sea World, Legoland and the zoo. Anyway, I saw on TV the other day that if you go to www.seaworldcares.com you can get a child's ticket for $5 with the price of an adult admission. That's a $54 savings, since a child's ticket is usually $59. Have fun!
Unsure about discount tickets sorry, but for your aged kiddos and the weather at the wild animal park in July (usually 100 +) I would skip the wild animal park. Try the zoo if they really want to see those animals, otherwise I recommend Lego land , and the new water park opening at legoland this summer. My 4yo daughter loves legoland and sea world. Just some suggestions. Enjoy your vacation!
We did the Animal park in October and it was tough. I have a 4 and 2 year old. It was a lot of walking! They weren't old enough to do any of the excursions so I wish we would have done Lego Land or the Zoo.
I would check with the hotel you stay at to see if they have deals...they often do. Also, check out the websites of the attractions you want to see. They have some pretty good deals if you buy tickets in advance. If you are a AAA member, you should get a discount too. Also, we can get discounts for a lot of things through our Credit Union.
Also there are deals on the sandiego.org website under coupons for food and other things you may not have even thought of to do while you're in SD.

I've heard of places like Costco or supermarkets having discounts on tickets if you buy through them. Also check newspapers. Sea World is awesome, but I agree middle of summer is super hot. One piece of advice I can give you is make sure you get to the shows about 20 min before start time and get a shady spot if at all possible. Sitting in direct sunlight during the shows can be torture and the shady spots go fast =-) Also there is a water park inside of Sea World. To keep cool bring water clothes (shorts, tank tops or even swim suits) for the kids so they can get wet and change after! Have Fun!
