Has anyone hired a company to restain a leather couch or done it yourself? At about 5 years old, our couch and chair were very worn.
I don't know anything about restaining leather, but once a year I use Mink Oil on our brown leather couch and it looks rich and lustrious, until it's time to do it again.
we bought a used one and did not realise that it was restained, every time it gets a bit wet, it stains clothes ......kids ruined so many clothes with it......
I would worry that the stain will come off on you and your clothes, my overall recommendation is to condition the leather (if it is of a suitable finish) or just live with it. You could have a nightmare on your hands otherwise that will be much more expensive in the long run.
I use a "furniture polish" that is primarily carnuba wax that will actually revitalize the leather. I've loaned it to friends that swear by it. I also use it on my husbands shoes. He's really rough on them and they look brand new when he finishes with them.
