Questions About Local Schools

I'm not familiar with the area you're speaking of but we chose to live in our town based on the public schools. The town has always had a strong school system in place, scored highly on the state tests, provides lots of extra curricular activities/sports for the kids to participate in, offers several choices for classes to take at the high school level, great facilities, brand new high school building.

As far as public schools go. I really believe there is no choice. You go to the one you are assigned to. People will look for the reason later.

If you want your child to attend a different one, it is possible and it over all just adds stress to a parents days. The system was created that way. If you want public assistance then you get what you get. Be happy it is free.

Kirkwood School District is amazing! We have been very, very happy with the education provided by our public school. I know some of Sunset Hills is in the Kirkwood attendance area. School districts affect property value, and many are willing to get a smaller house in a better school district.

I am in nearby Brookside. My daughter will enter St. Peter's School next year for Kindergarten. Besides the fact that it is across the street from my house, it has a reputation for excellence within the Catholic school system. My hope is that my daughter (for high shool) will then attend St. Teresa's Academy (my alma mater), which produces some of the most scholarly young women in the country. My goal is to provide my daughter with the resources to excell academically as far as she can go. I feel that these two schools can provide this for her.
