I was looking for a child friendly place to lose some fat:) I am really not a work out person and so I am new at this so bear with me. I am a basketball player whose mind says I think I can but whose knees say no you can't:) and therefor I am looking for other ways to drop some unwanted fat that said hello to me very recently. I have been quite fit and have pu on an extra 10-12 pounds out of nowhere. I am running/walking three miles a day and that seems to be doing nothing. I have heard yoga is good and I was just wondering what anyone thinks. I have children and so I need a place to go that has childcare so that has been a challenge. Possibbly a place where I can get a coach/personal trainer for a short time just to make sure I am doing the right things to reach my goal. Yoga, Pilates,Personal trainer, any suggestions. I have not been able to go to a gym and get on their treadmills or things like that because I get motion sickness real bad. Thank you for any suggestions. I live in the Temple Terrace area.

What can I do next?

Shapes is a good place to go, the pool is good if you have bad knees. It takes the weight off the knees and allows you to move freely. They have water aerobic clases that I was able to do before my knee replacements and still can do if I wish. I was able to do everything everyone else was in the water where if on land I could not do.

I also go to Shapes and I love it there. I have 2 boys and the child care is great. There is a Shapes in Temple Terrace on 56th Street.

I go to Shapes which is a gym for women. They have locations all over Tampa. They also provide free child care while you work out and have a variety of classes (including yoga, pilates, step, weight training etc). The location I go to also has a pool for water aerobics as well. They also give you the option to buy personal training sessions or "group sessions" which are a little cheaper. Anyway, the monthly price varies depending on what plan you choose, but don't take the first thing they offer you and they'll come down! I've been happy there. Hope that helps!
