First I'd like to say how great this Q&A forum is <3
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I've already gained 28lbs, I'm normally 115 maybe 120 on a bloated day. I'm nervous that I'll end up gaining close to 50lbs! I had my daughter 7yrs ago and only gained 30lbs, but lost it within two weeks....I'm so afraid I won't lose this time. But I don't want to diet while pregnant, and I cant exactly go for a walk in the morning rush of getting the kiddo up and out the door (DH leaves an hour before I get up), then off to sit at work for 9hours....and then home to do homework, make dinner do laundry and get ready for the next day. Any advice?

What can I do next?

I gained 75 with my first child, and lost it within 5 months. With my second (no change in eating habits), I gained 30 and it took a year to lose it. Repeat after me: every pregnancy is different, I cannot control this...

I could not stop eating with #2 or #3! My body always felt hungry! I gained 40 lbs with each, most of it in my belly!! People would comment on how big my belly was!!! I have lost all but 2 lbs of the 40 now and am no longer hungry that much, but #3 eats sooooo much for her age! I was stressed too, but maybe your body is just doing what it needs for the baby. It will work out. Its always hard to gain the weight, but I bet others think you look terrific:)

Take a 30 minute walk during your lunch hour! I started this while pregnant with my second child and have continued it. It's a nice break during the day and allows me to get some exercise and quiet time in!

When I had my DD, I knew I needed to drop the weight but I didn't want to sacrifice time with my family. So, I would work out in the afternoon after work (and an hour long commute...no fun!) and then it just got to be too hectic. THen I tried 4 am but then I was too tired to spend time with the family in the evening. Now, my husband and I work out together at 8pm after DD is down for the night. We get to spend time together doing what we both love and it doesn't impact time with DD. Good luck with it all!

Is your doctor concerned about your weight gain? If not, I would let it go. You will lose it all when you have your baby. Sounds like you did great losing it after your first.

With #1 I gained 19 lbs. Normally I was 122 lbs. The weight came off even with babies #2, #3, and #4. But, with those babies I gained closer to 30 lbs. Now I'm on #5. I do make a big effort to jog each night (even in the beginning of pregnancy), and I go to the gym 3 times a week to do weights. And I eat healthy. But boy I'm hungry! I think a healthy diet and exercise are very important. I don't understand how working women do it! When would they exercise? That's the problem my husband faces, too. He works all day. He jogs at night, but it's so awful when it's cold and dark. But no choice!

The fitter you are, the easier it will come off.
I gained more with #2 than with #1. Still came off within 6 weeks.

You don't have to diet. Just don't eat junk food, and FIND TIME to work out.

Get up when DH does and exercise.
You can do it.

My last pregnancy I was exercising, eating healthy and gained 45 lbs....I think our bodies do what they do when pregnant. I still have 30 left 10 months later. I will say it comes off harder with age. My first I was back in no time,I was also 15 years younger. I was so sick with my 2ND I had in home IVs the entire time, ate next to nothing and gained 60 lbs off IVs!

What's important is getting the nutrients your baby needs. We don't eat junk our processed foods. Focus on eating healthy and maybe walking over lunch....I did this in addition to my home workout, getting up and moving half way through the day also helped me not be so tired in the afternoon. Good luck.

I have the exact same problem. Now I wake up at 5:15, do workout videos in the basement for 30-40 minutes every morning. It stinks but it's just one of those things I make myself do. I like Jillian Michaels the best. I'm done, showered, and dressed before anyone else gets up. Good luck!!

Yeah, I'm freakin' out a bit too. I'm also 27 weeks pregnant, and I've gained 30. I'm not very thrilled about that. I just keep telling myself I'll lose it after the baby's born, but I know I should be eating better now. My OB doesn't seem concerned about the amount of weight I've gained. And I'm not concerned, per se, but I just don't want to have to work this all off later! I feel your pain!
