Many women have side effects with Mirena. Talk to your Gyno and see if he/she thinks that this is happening to you.

Take a pregnancy test and if it's positive call the dr right away and make sure to mention to whomever answers the phone your pregnant with a mirena in place.

If the test is negative, it could just be a hormonal change caused by stress, and other factors, but you need to know if your pregnant. The dollar store sells test for a $1, they are the best I ever used. I tested this time 5 days after I ovulated and got a positive with the dollar store and nothing with clear blue easy or the pink box digital one (~$30).

I have the Mirena (second time with it) and have not ever had those symptoms. Some people do get weird side effects. The weight gain probably is fairly normal, but enlarged breasts? Hmmm. Your breasts do get bigger when you gain weight, could that be it? Or is it like an overnight sensation of bigness, like when you're pregnant? I suggest you look online to see what the possible side effects are and if they are not that, take a pregnancy test. How long have you had it in? It is possible, although very unlikely to get pregnant while on it, so it probably isn't that. I hope you get some answers!

its most likely the mirena! It did that to me. I had hoped to loose all the baby weight and boy was I wrong not only didn't I lose any of it but ended up gaining some more. cramping and bloating is part of the side affects that should have been explained to you but probably wasn't. I had mirena for a whole year and hated it because it caused me to have absolutely horrible moodswings and I was constantly tired. After all I was one of the lucky ones who had a baby who slept all night from day one.

also the one who said they have to take it out if you are pregnant is wrong. They suggest taking it out but that creates a higher risk of miscarriage. It is your choice if it stays or goes if your pregnant. I doubt you are but a test to be sure should be done.

I'm using Mirena, and there are times when I feel the way you described. Scares me into thinking I'm pregnant! The thing that REALLY scares me is the breast tenderness because that was the first symptom of pregnancy for me.
The doctor assured me that with the Mirena, it's normal to have symptoms of menstruation without actually having a period (haven't had one since Sept. '07). Hormones are still functioning as they should, but not actually 'delivering'.
If you are feeling that it's more than hormonal fluctuation, please see your doctor.
All the best to you, A.!

A lot of posts I've read before of other moms using mirena said that they gained weight after using it for a while. In any case get a pregnancy test just to make sure. If you conceive while having it they have to take it out immediately to avoid losing the pregnancy.
Good luck!
