We just moved from an apartment with all hardwood floors to a townhouse which is fully carpeted. I am already dreading the cleanup when I start potty training my 2-1/2 year old and the spitups from my second child who will be born in a couple of months. What is the best way to clean pee/poop/spitup accidents from carpet??? Thank you in advance for any advice!

What can I do next?

hi, i love my "little green machine" and you can put the kind of carpet cleaner in it for pets. you will be cleaning the same kinds of things. it will eleminate the odor. i use to keep in with solution in it and when we had a mess you are ready to clean it up. just hide it in a closet or behind the couch. just don't for get to rinse out the dirty water tanks and then pop it back in and you are ready for the next mess. also works wonders on bed wetting accidents. best wishes, mom of 7, R.

J.,
Make room in your expenses for a spot steam cleaner if you do not already have one. It doesn't matter what brand, I personally have the Bissel Little Green, a friend of mine had the Spot Bot from Dirt Devil I believe, so brand is not what matters....having a small, easy to use steam cleaner and the cleaning solution for it on hand will make clean up of carpets a quick task. I used to fill the cleaning tank and just keep it in the laundry room - it still worked just fine to clean the spot even thought the water wasn't hot. My only advice is to DEFINITELY clean the dirty tank reservoir every time.

Good Luck on Potty Training!

Hi J., I shop with a green health and wellness company that has a number of awesome products, including one that works fabulously for that type of thing. I have cleaned up accidents on my rug for my dogs and my kids. You can even spray it right on the bed it is so safe! It is a phenomenal deoderizer too ... I used it with my diapers in the wash also ... it is call Sol-u-Mel. As a preferred customer you get a 30-40% discount too. It is sort of like a cross between a whole sale club (likes Sams, Costco) and your local health food store. The store's name is Melaleuca. For a preferred membership you need to be referred by someone else ... feel free to get in touch with me to learn more about this product or others. I have shopped there for over 5 years now. I was pregnant when I became a member and feel so much better about using these products in my home around my kids and pet.

Congratulations on your new baby coming!

Resolve works great but the best thing you can invest is in Scotch guard the carpets. It works great, stains come up quick. Also, as far as the infant, keep a blanket down on the floor where they are laying, it helps with a lot of spills and messes. For potty training, get the plastic pants at first to see how bad the accidents will be. Good luck!
