My daughter is 2.5 and we have been potty training since Thanksgiving. She was doing really well. She use to tell us when she had to go and now she is always going in her pants. I really don't know what to do. I'm at the end of my rope. Anyone have any advice

What can I do next?

Too much stress is put on children where potty training is concerned in my opinion. i have four children and i waited until they came to me and asked to wear big girl/boy pants before even starting the training.....and, none of the training took more than a few days and that was without many accidents. it can be a control issue if you let it be so i recommend you "listen" to your child and let her potty train when she is ready. if it is her decision, then she will potty train herself and be proud of her accomplishment.

It is a cry for attention. We get so excited with them when they first start going that when they are doing well and it is business as usual they wonder why no excitement or potty dance. My daughter is three now (just turned in December) and we had the same issues, I didn't know what to do, but we just started being excited again and taking her to the restroom after she had had something, you know ten or fifteen minutes and they have to go. Anyway, a friend of mine bought a digital watch for her little girl and set it to go off at particular times and that meant it was time to potty. Now we are on to not holding it to the last minute, and how to clean ourselves. It is harrowing at times and every day there is something new, but what else did we expect from a little person trying to learn so much so fast?

You have to find something that your daughter really wants to have, then you negociate with her, Itworked with mydaughter, it took only 2 weeks and the diapers were out of our lifes during the day, I used to take her to the potty trainer very often and I always repeated that as soon as she continued doing #1 and #2 we will go to get her request! and we did it! she got a "built a bear toy".

Have their been any changes in her routine or surroundings? Our son has gone through (and is going through) the same thing. He potty-trained early, esp. for a boy, at just over 2 years old. Now at almost 3.5, he has started going in his pants again. Unfortunately, it just happens to be at day care. He hasn't been in "school" for a few months, and in all the excitement of playing with his new friends, he just doesn't want to take time out to go potty.

The first time he went through this, we would just keep an eye out for signs that he had to go just like we did through potty-training, and would tell him that he could either take time out of his playing to go to the potty or he could have time out. I know a lot of people will probably think this is harsh, but it worked well. He just didn't want to stop playing long enough to go potty, so we gave him the choice. We only had to send him to time-out once when he was testing the theory, and then immediately he decided he would rather go to the potty. It worked really well for us.

Unfortunately now he is in day care again, and so we have to go through the "being a big boy" talks..
