Something beige or ivory would probably compliment the color of the dress.

I'd keep it small and not too elaborate - at least if it were for me - I don't have a lot of patience for large things on my head.

i would wear it to a wedding, but i know nithing about english weddings..
i would do gold or bone or flesh colored shoes, like the gal in the pic has on.

i also spend 95% of my life in sweat pants and wear no makeup... jean shorts and a t-shirt are my go to outfits...meaning i have zero fashion sense!

It's a gorgeous dress so I would keep it simple and go with basic black pumps or slingbacks. as far as the fascinator is concerned, I'm divided. It depends on what the other accessories are. if you go bold with the jewelry maybe something sparkly in your hair would be a better idea. if you do go with the fascinator, I would try to match the color as much to the dress as possible and keep it delicate so it doesn't overpower the lace on the dress. I can't speak to your first question specific to an English wedding. but I would say the dress looks appropriate for any formal occasion. travel safely and have fun!!

I would do a simple shoe, black, gold, or nude. Since the dress is lace I would keep all other accessories simply or absent.

Nice dress! Fascinators are not *always* worn at English weddings. If you want to wear one JFF, or if you have specifically heard that other women at the wedding will be wearing them, great. But otherwise, don't break your back (or the bank) trying to get one.

I love English weddings! Two thoughts: whatever fascinator or hat you choose, make it really, really, match the dress. In England, it is typical for a hat to be designed to match the dress. So match color, fabric, etc. Also, be sure to wear no hose or nude hose. And the shoes that are "in" in England are long, with super pointy toes. The heels can be low. Have a marvelous time!

no clue how english weddings may differ from american ones, but i can't see how in any situation this dress would not be appropriate.
love that you're getting a fascinator. i'd get it in the same color as the shoes, and in a neutral. probably beige with a radish-colored dress, but cream or black would work too. or possibly a really deep dark autumn burgundy.
there's a good chance it will be cold and damp, so a good warm wrap would be a good idea too.
you should totally take a photo when you're glitzed up, make it your profile pic and post when you get back! i'd love to see what you decide on.

I know that years ago women wore some form of hat in churches in Great Britain (I had to buy one to wear for a church wedding in Scotland...) But honestly, before shelling out the money to buy one, ask the bride if women are supposed to wear them.

I believe that the color of the shoes and purse should be the same. I have heard through the years that your shoes either match your hemline exactly or your hose. So nude shoes and purse and the hat match the dress maybe? But styles have changed so very much.

I do think you can go overboard on the hat. Not being there and seeing England from our point of view could put you in an embarrassing situation.

So why not give the bride or mother of the bride, a bridesmaid or someone in that family and ask them. See if you need a hat or anything like that.
