Happy New Year Everyone!

Just wondering what you will do differently this year?

I will try to be even more positive & not let the negativity of others affect my daily life.

What about you? Not resolutions......just changes.

What can I do next?

This year we bought a big glass jar. We are going to put "good things" on little slips of paper and put them in the jar and at the end of the year read through them.
Good things - We spent the day with gma and gpa and had a great day! My first indoor game was today and I played great! I did good on a math test I was worried about! Last night was excellent with my husband! Today we saw an eagles nest.
Just things that we have done that we were happy about. I think too often we focus on the struggles and forget about the good stuff. My kids think I am nuts and this will be a waste of time, shoot, my husband probably does too, but I think it will be great.

I'm putting my health first, focusing on exercise, mediation, and being present.

I've also totally changed the format of my homeschool group to free up more time for myself. It's my hope I'll get back to writing at some point this year. Right now I just want to get 30 days of mediation in a row done.

And, my kids and I wrote a list of our focus words for the year: joy, laughter, fun, kindness, listening. These will be our guides for daily life.

Happy New Year to You!!

I don't have any resolutions, per say.. Just keep positive and continue to work hard with our company and enjoy my 20yr old daughter.

One thing my daughter is doing for herself for the new year was to create a positivity jar. Each day, she said she would write something positive... (just a quick thought such as "I aced the ___ exam today" or "beautiful sunny day", etc) (simple small notes with a sentence or 2 or less....and then reflect on it next New Years Eve. I like that idea and may just jot positive notes for myself in my phone and notebook where I keep all my notes.

Work on trying to be more present, more in the "now," instead of stressing over the future or things I "should" be doing.

I found a tool recently - a planner, called Passion Planner. I started using it this last few weeks, and I already noticed I'm more on the ball.

I like it because it's related to what your passions/goals are, specifically. It gives you a bit of help to break things down, and figure out what you want to concentrate on.

passionplanner.com - you can buy it, or if you promote it on social media, you get a link to the PDF version for free (printout-196 pages as it's a full calendar).

New Job, start a book. These are the things I'm working on for 2015 - improving my focus on what I need to do is what I'm going to, and already doing :)

Being more present and making time for myself (I'm sure it will be a small amount of time) so that I can be more patient and a happier / more engaged mom

I've already begun I will make amends where needed and accept more readily that which I cannot change. I am going back to keeping a food journal and although I already walk a lot, will include at minimum 20 min of aerobics. so far, on track for all of the above. Lastly, I am attending school and for the last two semesters I have beat myself (despite getting good grades) this semester I vow more positive self-talk and if I don't get a concept at first, at least try and be more patient with myself as when I do grasp something, I end up doing well... keeping it positive..
