New to the Area and Still Trying to Get Used to It Here in Frisco

I haven't made any real friends here yet, so I am interested in growing some roots in the area. I have a 16 year old daughter and she is home schooled with tutors and is in the UT high school program. She doesn't have any friends yet. I prefer to meet people in church groups. We have been to Covenant in Carrollton in the past, because my brother goes there, but we need places and people in Frisco and Plano. A church and some groups for my daughter to join would be nice. She is a bright responsible girl. I would like to put her in some acting classes and I don't know where to find those. I think it would help with her confidence level and we just got professional pics taken of her so she can go on casting calls.(for fun) She wants to be a lawyer.
I already have some great doctors in the area but that is about it.

What can I do next?

I also recommend Fellowship Church. We go to the Grapevine campus, but I hear the Plano one is AWESOME! My two oldest boys really enjoy the youth group. I'm sure your daughter would too.

I was going to recommend Stonebriar to you, too. It is a BIG church, so you will need to find some place to connect. They have a youth program as well as women's ministry opportunities. I am in Mom 2 Mom, but that is geared more for moms with young children. I would recommend checking out the Wednesday morning women's Bible study, or they are starting book clubs I think on Tuesday evenings for women. THe men's Wednesday night group is supposed to be outstanding. I am a stay-at-home mom too and have met most of my friends through M2M there. How lonely not to have made connections yet-- praying that you will and your daughter will find your niche!
Hugs,
A.
