Hi! I'm new to Marblehead, I'm a single mom of a 7 month old girl. I have been a SAHM since her birth, but I am now back in the job market. So soon I will be a working Mom. I am seeking other Moms for socializing, friendship and sharing baby rearing moments! Are there any fun things to do with baby around town? I will also be looking for childcare, advice on that for this area would also be great! Thanks!

What can I do next?

There is a NorthShoreMoms meetup group:

I don't know anything about them, just did a Google search.
Good luck!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Check out MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). There used to be a group in Marblehead. I am not sure if it is still around. And there is a group also that meets at North Shore Baptist in Beverly Farms. MOPS usually has childcare available which is an added bonus!

Hi there,
We moved to Marblehead last fall so we just went through the same thing. We have one son who will be 2 this summer and another one on the way due in September. My husband is a teacher in town and I work 4 days/week in Cambridge. Our son goes to the JCC for childcare- he loves it and we are very happy with the program... the teachers are wonderful. There are a number of holidays when the center is closed that can be a problem (we are not Jewish so don't celebrate the holidays), but if you can make other arrangements, it shouldn't be a big deal. There is generally a waiting list so if you are interested in the program, you should contact them right away.
We have found Marblehead to be a wonderful family town. The YMCA was great programs for the little ones- they can start gym class and swimming very young. There is also a great music class called Music Together that is for infants/toddlers of all ages. There are several wonderful parks throughout town, too.
Let me know if you have specific questions and have fun- you've moved to Marblehead just in time for a wonderful summer!
