Hi. This is my first time using this site. I just moved to Florida from New Jersey, spent two months in Orlando, and now I'm done here. What are the best beaches in the area? Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician? How is Dwight D Eisenhower School? Basically any information on the area that you can give me would be great! I feel so lost and homesick here.

What can I do next?

Hi and welcome to the area! I am from NJ too :)

My favorite beaches are Palm Beach and MacArthur Park which is on Singer Island. Palm Beach is nice for families, there is plenty of free parking along the side sreets and there are lifeguards. MacArthur Park is more of a tranquil setting. You have to pay to get in ($3 I think) then you walk or take a shuttle across a wooden bridge over the intracoastal to get to the secluded beach. It's really beautiful there. Lots of shells to collect if you are in to that. They also have a small nature center which is nice for the kids. There are no lifeguards on the beach though, so I prefer to go there to relax but not go in the water.

Other things we like to do are The Palm Beach Zoo and Clematis by night in downtown West Palm Beach. There are also a lot of nice restaurants and shops to go to on PGA. Lastly, there is a place I've been wanting to take my son in Palm Beach Gardens called A Latte Fun. It's an indoor playground with foam pits, slides, trampolines, toys, etc for the kids and a coffee shop for the adults. It's gotten some great reviews.

How old are your kids? My son and I are always looking to make new friends for playdates. If you are interested in meeting up you can email me at ____@____.com.

K.,
We are relatively new to the area as well. We have been extremely pleased with our pediatrician, Dr. Sanua. She is with Pediatric Partners. Both her and the rest of the staff at their location in Palm Beach Gardens on PGA have been wonderful, and the office is nice. They have three locations, one in Jupiter I think, and one farther south somewhere. Dr. Sanua is at the PGA location only in the mornings. I think she is at the Jupiter location in the afternoons, but I'm not sure. Either way, we have not had any trouble getting in to see her. My daughter is just turning 2, and she is wonderful with her, and she communicates very well with us too. Like I said, we have been happy with the staff there as well, but we haven't actually met with any of the other doctors. Welcome to the area and best of luck settling in to your new home!

Hi K., welcome to Palm Beach. My pediatrician has a very small practice, but I love him. Dr. Conrad Wynne. He's on Forest Hill Blvd in West palm beach. Best beach by far is up in Jupiter off Alt A1A, its called Dubois park and has the best beach for the little ones, as well as a playground. But yours is not so little, so you may try Lake Worth beach.
