Beaches in Boynton/Lake Worth/Lantana?

I have to admit- I have never been to the beach in the almost 3 years we've lived here in South Florida. Now I'm getting married in 19 days (AAAAH- stress!) and I want to list a beach or 2 in the welcome "brochure" I made for my Welcome Baskets for the out of town guests.

Does anyone know of any clean, good beaches that are in decent areas that I can recommend to my guests? They are staying either in Boynton or Lake Worth so anything in those areas would be good. My brother said Palm Beach but that's just too much of a drive for someone who doesn't know how to get around down here.

Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Another Alternative is GulfStream Park on A1A It is between Woolbright and Atlantic. (Briney Breezes) It is free to park, there is a picnic area with grill access, a great playground, and the sand is pretty good. There are a LOT of rocks, but they probably won't swim much anyway this time of year. A lot of people snorkle in the area as well. We go there a lot and it usually isn't too crowded.

i don't know if this will be of help, but my favorite beach has always been deerfield beach, off of hillsboro boulevard in broward county....it is the nicest beach around. there may be some nice beaches further north about an hour. my boss had her wedding on deerfield beach a few years ago. i didn't attend, but there is a nice hotel there.

I love Delray Beach. Atlantic Avenue (directly off of I95) takes you all the way to the beach through the downtown shopping/restaurants part of town. There are several shops and restaurants directly across from the beach too. This would also be a great place (if you haven't already), for you and your soon-to-be hubby to have a nice night out. Fun.

Hi K.,
Congrats.

I agree with Terri. Delray Beach would be your best bet. It's open to the pubic. In the stretch that goes from Atlantic to Linton there are parks that have metered parking and street parking. It's family oriented though, so I don't know how this will fit your friend's plans.

K.,
First of all CONGRATULATIONS to you!! Two beaches which are nice, but they are not free unfortunately, are Boynton Beach and Delray Beach. Delray is the easiest access b/c there is street parking (metered) along A1A. Boynton Beach is nice because it has a snack bar and bathrooms. This beach is located just north of the Ocean Ave bridge going over the Intracoastal. Hope this helps.
The best of luck to you!
T.

The area is filled with good beaches. The Lantana beach, next to the Ritz Carlton, is great and there's a super outdoor breakfast and lunch restaurant overlooking the beach with gourmet-style food. The Lake Worth Beach along the pier is very popular and the pier has a good restaurant, as well. The Boynton Inlet has a beach on either side -- ocean access and intercoastal access with picnic tables, play ground, etc.

Enjoy!

hi K., The Lake Worth Beach is really nice. It can get crowded and loud on weekends, and don't leave your valubles unattended but the sand and sun are great. Tke lots of quarters for parking. Palm Beach is my son's favorite haunt but you have to get there early to find a good parking spot. I don't have any others to recommend. John Prince Park on Congress and Lake Worth is a beautiful spot, especially the palyground for young kids. You shouldn't swim in the lake (Gators) and rules I think. B.
