I am awaiting the arrival of my first grandbaby! Baby is due in late June. An ultrasound is scheduled on Feb. 4 to find out the sex. My daughter is looking for crib sets but hasn't found anything she really likes. Is there somewhere in the Houston area other than Babies R Us?

Pottery Barn has beautiful, but a little pricey bedding sets. I found one that I LOVED and it was being discontinued. It immediately popped up on ebay with brand new sets, never been opened in packaging. There is also a PB outlet in New Braunfels!
I ordered mine online.. We wanted a saiboat theme and I searched for that.. BUT!! After getting all of the pieces, I don't hardly use any of them... I paid well over $100, and you cannot use the quilt (suffocation hazard) or the crib bumper pad (suffocation hazard) I don't use the diaper stacker (I just don't have the time-- I keep the diapers at the changing table)
We use the curtains (which are solid, so I could've bought them anywhere) and we use the hanging pictures that we bought.. I had to buy the lamp seperately that matched everything. So all in all we did waste money on buying a bedding set. She might want to rethink buying it.
If you still want to buy a set, I found mine through amazon.com-- just search for the theme, and hopefully you will come up with stuff she likes... Grammy-- that's my mother in laws name!! What really pulled the babies room together for us is a sailboat border around the middle of the room, and then we painted the bottom half of his room navy.. and we bought a used dresser and painted it navy/white to match the sailboat border... Please tell her good luck with getting everything ready for the baby- my son is 4 months old and he is such a joy to our lives!!
I couldn't find anything I liked either. She can go to places like Babies r Us and Burlington Coat Factory but I would tell her to go online. I shopped at babysupermall.com and babycenter.com and babyuniverse.com. She would have many more options. I am having a girl (Feb 8th)and hated everything in the stores. Shopping online was much better and you can get everything from the bedding to the drapes! Hope this helps; congratulations!
Congrats on your new arrival. Grandparents are special I found some really cute bedding at pottery barn kids they have one in the Woodlands, and Galleria area you can also shop online as well. Good luck and congrats again.

Are you looking for anything impaticular? I ended up making one for my son, couldn't find just what we wanted. I special ordered fabric, pur his name on it, special ordered personalized patches. It really wasn't to hard, spent about the same $ as if I had bought one at say pottery barn kids or something but it is very personal to him. Just a suggestion, I would also be able to make one for you if you are interested?

First of all Congrats! I got my son's bedding at target- ordered it online. There is a really cute baby sports theme that has teddy bears. It is light green and blue and you can buy all the accessories- mobile, lamp, valance, and bedding for under $100. They have all kinds available and the shipping is very reasonable!

I found a great variety of nursery bedding online. After much research I bought mine at http://www.royalbambino.com. They offer free shipping on orders over $99. Sometimes depending on the bedding set they may have fabric swatches available to help you with your decision.
Congrats! I remember how hard it was to find bedding. Make sure that the crib sheets she gets has elastic all the way around. I have heard that some only have it on the four corners, which isn't as safe. I ended up ordering mine from www.javisdavis.com. They were wonderful, good price and fast. Best of luck!

You can go to Kids / Babies 1st Furniture off of I-45. They have all kinds of goodies. They have some bedding sets in the store, you can order out of a catalog, or you can even pick your own fabrics and have them made. It just depends on how much money you want to spend.
I actually found a bedding set off of Ebay and went that route. Which of course I regret now. Since they only thing that I use from that set is the bed skirt! The bumper pads and pillows all had to be taken out of the crib as soon as I brought my son home from the hospital. These items are just for decorations until your bundle of joy arrives.
