Needing Some Big Time Kindnesses!

Hi again Moms..
My family is in need of some help. On Thursday my 21-year-old brother got his two front teeth knocked out. He just started a new job and so he doesn't have medical insurance. The oral surgeon that he saw said that he needed a crown on one side (there is a fragment of tooth there big enough to crown) and an implant on the other as there isn't even a root there. We are all strapped for cash (especially with my upcoming wedding having taken claim to what extras I did have) and dental offices won't do work without up-front payment. We have been told about CareCredit and all that, where he can make payments. But he really can't afford another payment on top of car and insurance and living expenses. Does anyone know of a kind-hearted oral surgeon/specialist in the Metro area willing to donate their services to fix my brother? It would be a tax-write off for their business, and a wonderful thing to do. I know it's a long shot, but I thought if anyone would know it would be you guys. My brother is honestly a great guy just trying to make his way in life, like all of us. Just when he is back on the road again after losing his job, this happens. I just want to help him in any way I can. Any advice would be so great.
Thanks!

Hi L....I hope you have found some help! I market discount dental and health plans, so let me know if you can't find anyone to donate, at least you could get some great discounts with our plan if we have providers in your area. Please email me for the link to our website so I can get you more information. It's $19.95/mo for an entire household for our dental/vision/Rx/chiropractic plan.

Like I said, I hope your brother has found a kind soul to donate the work...

Do you have a dental school nearby? They might be delighted with the teaching opportunity. DH knocked his front tooth out when he was in school and we had a new baby and no $. The dental school did an implant for almost nothing (it did take lots of long appointments during the workday though) and even took pics of the procedure for use in a dental text book. lol. Oh, and they gave DH a retainer w/ a false tooth attached to wear until the implant was complete. It might be worth a call?

Best of luck,
S.

I would check out the u of m dental program. I know of a friend that had free dental work done by students under the supervison of dentist/oral surgeon. Good luck!

I don't think they do dental work, but maybe they have a recommendation/referral: http://www.peoples-center.org/
Good luck to your bro.
