Need a New Stylist

Hi. I'm in desperate need of a new hair stylist, but I'm a SAHM so I can't afford to spend much.

I'm nervous about going to someone new just by picking a name out of the phonebook, but my old stylist charged $150 for a cut & color. I just can't afford that anymore.

I can go anywhere from Mandarin to Southside area so any help finding a stylist in that general area would be very much appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi Kim,
I just moved here and was in the same situation as you. It was so frustrating. The first place I picked around here I got stuck paying $160! No hair do is worth $160 to me, lol! Anyway, I asked around and found a girl named Maria at R. Lindo Salon on San Jose Blvd. They are in the Marshall's shopping center next to Wal-Mart. She did a fantastic job and I came out UNDER $100! I would recommend her to anyone!

Good Luck!

Jim at This and That on Kingsley. ###-###-####. The place doesn't look like much but he does a great job with color. My last cut and highlights was $45. His prices may have gone up a little since then.

I'm in Mandarin and go to Girlz & Co Salon off of Losco at Old St. Augustine. I always see the owner, her name is "Nu" (I think she is Chinese). She is reasonably priced and easy to get appts. My cuts are $35 each and she does a much better job than several other places I went to (some even cost me more money for a cut). I don't do color so I am unsure of her skills/fees for this. She's even been so kind as to trim my kids hair (2 and 4 yrs old) and then allowed them to hang out while I got a quick trim up. Pretty kid friendly.

She is very reasonable. I used to pay the $150 for cut & color now I pay 85 for it all. ###-###-####
