I have a 6 year old daughter who keeps having problems with vomiting. She will go into bed and be just fine but a couple hours later she gets up and runs to the bathroom and vomits until her stomach is empty. The next day she is fine and continues to be fine for about 2 weeks then does it again. The Dr said that its probably something she is eating but she doesn't eat the same things every time it happens and it has happened 5 different times now. Anybody have some advice?

What can I do next?

Things that could be causing it.
Milk _ususally a daily consumption
Gluten - also a daily consumption
Possible food Dyes- in things people eat regularly.
Eggs- in things we eat daily
Soy- also in things we eat daily.

I would have her tested.. Take things out for a few weeks and then intruduce them back and see what happens.

Has you Dr offered any kind of testing to see?

Good Luck

Could it be acid reflux?

Maybe keep a food journal to see if anything within the food that she ate is related to the days she is sick.

Could she have post nasal drip? If that stuff is draining down into her stomach, it could be making her sick.

Strong possibility it could be food allergies. Sounds like her body's rejecting something she's ingesting. May also be sinus drainage that she's gagging on. I would definitely start seeking medical opinions beginning with a pediatric allergist. Good luck !

this happened to my 5 year old when i was pregnant with her baby brother. i think it was anxiety and stress. it went on for a few months, and after baby was born she was fine.

I remember one of those "mystery Diagnosis" shows a little girl was foing the same thing and it turned out to be a wierd kind of seizure, but I think she was doing it a lot more frequently....

I would have her checked for an ear infection or sinus infection.

My daughter does that some w/ an ear infection (doesn't typically run a fever with it but does sometimes). There is a nerve that runs from the ear area to the stomach and can cause the pain or nausea and/or vomitting (had it happpen with my son before too).
