Middle Name Problem?

My fourth child is due in April

If it's a boy his name will be Roman Michael

If it's a girl i've decided on Elena, the only problem is I would really like to have my niece's name as the middle. Her name is Ella. Does Elena Ella sound too rhymy? If so, what do you think of Elena Elle (Elle is my special nickname for my niece from me as most people just call her Ella)

Our last name is Tayes, help would be sooo greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

I guess my first question is are you pronouncing Elena as in the latter half of Helena or as in eh-lain-a? Actually, now that I try the names out I don't think Ella goes well with either pronunciation nor do I think Elle goes well (but I love that name and wanted to name my second daughter that but hubs nixed it). Maybe you could use Ella in a name....like Elena Gabriella, Elena Arabella, Elena Faunella, Elena Grisella, etc.

Here's an idea: you could have her be Elena L. and pick any name you like that starts with that letter. My best friend is also named Elena and her middle name starts with M. It flows fine but she hates her middle name.

Have you asked your niece's mom how she would feel about that? You don't mention the age of the neice.

Elena is a pretty name. If it were me, I'd probably shorten it to Lena. So you might consider just naming her Lena. My neice is Alyssa and we all just call he Lyssa.

For me the Elena Ella and Elena Elle are a bit rhymey.

What about Elena Elizabeth, Elena Michelle, Elena Nicole, or even
Roma Michelle?

I would make your child's middle name her own.
Not based on your favorite Niece.
Just my take on it.

I would not want to be named, for my Mom's favorite niece.
Personally.
I would want a special name, that is all my own.

Try saying it in a ticked off voice, and in a professional voice.

Elena Elle Tayes!!! works fantastically

"Elena Elle Tayes... pleasure to meet you." also works in a beautiful / musical way. Of course, she'll usually use Elena Tayes, which is both strong and feminine at the same time.

You've got a winner.

((Ella creates a glottal stop between Elena and Ella... so it comes off badly, but Elle works QUITE lyrically.))

I don't care for the initials being EER. It does rhyme a bit too much, I am hearing El El when it is said out loud. If Elle is your special name for your niece is it fair to name your baby Elle? Will she be hurt?

What happened to Kristen as a middle name? LOL. I remember from your last post you seemed pretty set on that! As far as Elena Ella, I'm not crazy about how that sounds - I think it goes better with Elle, but still very similar...I actually think some of your other first name suggestions go better with Elle, like Cassandra. JMO. I also love the name Elena, just not combined with Elle. But you still have plenty of time to decide!
good luck! :)

My 2 week old niece is named Elena Kate...I guess Elena is becoming a fairly popular name! Other than that little share, I agree 100% with what Riley J. said. Elena Elle, thumbs up. Elena Ella, thumbs down.

What if you did Elena L. Tayes (the L would only symbolize & sound like Elle and have a cute story behind it)

I prefer Elena Elle as when you say Elena Ella Tayes the rhythm is rather sing-songish.

Elena Elle has a nice sound to it, and it seems better not to use the exact name of your niece if you have another option. Enjoy your new daughter!
