Zyrtec and Behavior

I have a 6 year old daughter who has allergies which seem to crop up this summer. I've given her Zyrtec for the last few weeks and am noticing some horrible behavior changes in her. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if they could be related. She has always been an independent child, but this is a whole new level of bad behavior. I just started to wonder if it could be the Zyrtec. This is her first time on Allergy Meds.

Always Stuffy Nose

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been having this stuffy nose problem for past 3-4 weeks or so. She's not sick and doing well, but her nose is always stuffy. Not runny or have cold symptoms, but I guess something must be bothering her nose. It's not stuffy 24 hours, but she usually has something in her nose that bothers her and sometimes it's hard for me to watch her being so bothered by her stuffy nose. She hates the saline spray, so when I try to use that on her, she panics and gets upset. And even when I do get that in her nose, it...

Zyrtec Causing Hyperness

I am a mother of a 3 1/2 year old girl, she has recently been put on zyrtec for bug bites, and she is also on and anti biotic for and ear infection and tylenol for a virus in her throt. Yesterday she had a fever and this afternoon she had a fever and was very sleepy and not moving around much. I gave her the first dose of zyrtec at about 7pm because i was told by the phamacist it would make her sleepy, but it seemed to do the opposite. Maybe it is just coincidence that she started feeling better or it actually made her hyper. She was no...

Follow-up to Rash on Inner Thighs - Taking Zyrtec??

I posted yesterday about my 2yr 5mo old daughter's rash between her legs. The Dr's only suggestion (that we haven't already done) was to give her 1 teasp Zyrtec 1xday. We have already switched panties, switched Pull-ups, switched pants, used hydrocortisone, wiped her clean after accidents, etc. Has anyone given their nearly 2.5 year old Zyrtec syrup? Not sure if this is the right path to take. Thanks mommies!
