I'm pregnant with my first child and I'm looking for a pediatrician around the Towson or Timonium area. Does anyone have any experience with a really good pediatrician around that area? I don't mind travelling a little further for someone good (knowledgable, personable, supportive, and good with kids) with a good (friendly, efficient, and helpful) office staff. Please let me know. Thanks a lot!

I take my little boy to the Maryland Pediatric Group and see Dr. Amy Winkelstein. She's so great. The office is open for emergencies on the weekends and it's easy to get a same day appointment when your child is sick. Here's their link: http://www.mdpedgrp.com/OfficeLocation.htm

You can interview pediatricians while you are pregnant. I did and felt much better knowing who was going to be helping to keep my son healthy for the next 18 years. Congrats on your baby to be! L.

I have used The Pediatric Center since my son was born. They have an office in Columbia that I have been to once, but I normally take him to their Catonsville office. Either way, I have loved them since the beginning! I have never had to wait in the waiting room for more than 10min and it's normally no more than 5, which surprised me the first few times I went there as I had grown up having to wait in the waiting room for at least an hour at a time! They have always been absolutely wonderful to me and my children no matter what doctor or nurse we have seen (though they try their hardest to always get you in with your child's doctor, if you're going in for something like a flu shot you will only see a nurse). They have never been anything short of professional and are always VERY friendly and personable to both me and my children. If you would like any more info, such as numbers or addresses or even specific doctors feel free to e-mail me, ____@____.com, or you can even go to their website at www.thepediatriccenter.org. Hope this helps!

I love Amy Winkelstein at Md Pediatric Group in Lutherville off Falls Road. She takes a lot of time and my kids love her. I'm not sure how they assign the pediatricians to new moms but I have heard great things about almost all of them in that group and have seen Dr Headings, Lake, and Brinkman from that group and they were all very nice and knowledgable. I have heard good things about Michele Singer at Pediatric Partners and Jeffries Bucci in Towson.

Good luck. Finding a pediatrician you love is hard.

Dr. Goldstein at Pavillion Pediatics at Greenspring Station is wonderful - actually, all of the drs there are! They even have a "sick hour" in the morning - you don't need an appt., just go in and they will see your child. Everyone in the office is wonderful and so helpful! They really take the time to answer all of your questions in person and on the phone.

We go to the Maryland Pediatric Group at 10807 Falls Road in Lutherville (near Greenspring). They are WONDERFUL! It is a practice of 9 doctors and 2 nurse practitioners. I think they rotate who is accepting new patients but I recommend the practice highly! You can check their website mdpedgrp.com and read bios on on the doctors and decide who you'd like to ask for an interview with. Good luck!
