I am starting the search for a pediatrician in my area. I live in Hampden in Baltimore City and really want someone close by. I am only 9 weeks along, so I have plenty of time to find someone. PLEASE only recommend a doctor close to Hampden who is not only a good doctor but whom you actually like, and who has emergency, after-hours and weekend contacts. If you don't love your doctor, then I probably won't either! I have a perfectly good and very personable doctor I can use in Columbia but I really want someone close by for those awkwardly timed emergencies.

Dr Brinkmann only got one rec., and she's a bit further away, but the report on her was simply glowing and very detailed: there is an in-office lab, well-child waiting room, hematologist and allergist on site, and she's good at returning after-hours calls -- so I'll be visiting her too!

Dr. Barnaby Starr is fantastic. He's so great, that we just moved 40 mins away and I refuse to change doctors b/c I love him so much that it is worth the drive. ###-###-####. He always calls back the same day. He is always on time with his appointments. He comes to the hospital the day you deliver for the first appointment. He is at Cross Keys on Falls Rd.
Dr. Ralph Brown is at Sinai and is wonderful. His number is ###-###-####- he only takes children as newborns and then follows them. He has a nurse practicioner who works with him who is fabulous!!
H., My Dr. is Kirsten Brinkmann and she is with Maryland Pediatric Group. They are right up 83 on Falls Rd. in Timonium. It may be about 10/15 min from Hampden, but it is well worth it. They have a lab in the office, a well child waiting room, a hematologist, an allergist, and a number of doctors that are able to see your child if they are ever sick and your doctor isn't available. Dr. Brinkmann is loving and sweet. My daughter (who is 20 months) doesn't even cry when she gets her shots. They are always on schedule too, which is HUGE when you are dealing with kids. I have also had to call them after hours a few times and they have been very helpful and quick with getting back to me. I hope this helps a little. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

I am so-so with my doctor so I won't give his info. I will, however, let you know that I am a SAHM with 2 boys and while I am almost 10 years younger than you, I live in Hampden and once baby comes and you need support I can help as can the playdates you can come to!!!
My daughter sees Dr. Wilson or Dr. Ong in the Rotunda. They are with Union Memorial. I love her doctor and so does my daughter.
