I am looking to do some work from home. I am so unsure what is legitimate and whats not. I just want to do some data entry or something. I don't want to sell anything or do any telemarketing. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi S., I just joined and you are the first person I have contacted. I have a wonderful and very legitimate home biz and today it is 16 years I've been doing it. Not long ago (October '07, to be exact), I looked at my baby and realized he was not a baby anymore--he would soon be off to preschool; it was time for me to start thinking about returning to work. Having owned my own retail business before, I knew that I would not be happy working for someone else, but also that I did not want to have to build another business from the ground up--developing product, finding customers, building brand recognition, keeping inventory. I started looking for a direct-sales career that wouldn't cost me a lot to start up, and that wasn't a big pyramid scam (I'd sunk $1000 into a previous direct-sales business that folded shortly after I signed up).

My mom was an "Avon Lady" in the late '70s, so I looked into what Avon was offering nowadays. The first thing that struck me was that everyone knows and loves Avon! Anytime I mentioned I was thinking about becoming a representative, people said, "my mom sold Avon!" or "Oh, I love their skin care stuff," or "I've been looking for someone who sells Avon!"

Then I started to notice the Avon advertisements during my favorite TV shows, and in the magazines I read. Avon is everywhere! When I found out that I not only didn't have to buy a "start-up kit," and didn't have to try to book parties, but that my appointment fee was only $10, I jumped right in!

I have not been disappointed. Finding customers and new Avon reps. to join my sales team has been great fun, and not terribly difficult. Like I said, everyone loves Avon. I have met and exceeded every goal I've set for myself. I love it and I'm committed to it for the long run--if you join my team, I won't disappear on you. This is my career.

As I type this post, my 7-year-old has been playing his daily 30 minute allotment of Playstation, and my 3-year-old has asked me to help him get dressed, get a snack, get some milk, fix this toy. It's not the most conventional "corner office"--the corner of my dining room table--but I love it!

If you're interested in becoming an Avon representative, or learning more, email me today. New reps who join on or before 8/20/2008 will receive a free product bundle to get you started.
