A. - yes, this involves pushing products on people. You only make commission on what you sold. It also involves recruiting new sales people to be under you - and that's how you rise through the ranks to earn really good money, because you end up getting a percentage of all those under you. (so to get to the next level, you have to sell X dollars in a month, and your team has to sell X dollars combined, and you have to have X number of people under you, etc. - each rank usually comes with a new commission percentage schedule. So eventually, if you're good, you will get very big checks based on other people's sales. But it's tough to do this and requires a lot of hours cultivating clientele and looking for leads - hence, why so many post here)
If you are not a personality that enjoys selling & pushing products - don't even consider becoming a consultant for any direct-sale company, not just Arbonne. You will end up being disappointed and feel bad and will have probably wasted some money. If you love the products, though, and just want to get a good discount and have a wide circle of friends & family, then absolutely you can get in it - but you'll never make the big bucks.
Arbonne does have excellent products - but they are pretty expensive, so you have to really sell the whole benefit of the company, the ingredients, the lifestyle, etc. because paying $50 for lotion is insane unless you believe all the hyperbole around its special powers.
And please - no flaming from all Arbonne and other direct-sales reps out there. She asked how you make money. I am not knocking Arbonne (I am a pretty loyal customer), and I have been a direct-sales rep for several companies for different reasons and am very aware of exactly what it takes to make good money at it. It's not everyone's cup of tea.
