Looking for Home Improvement Repair Company While Staying on a Budget

Hi L.. My husband and I are currently getting a lot of work done on our townhouse and are very happy with our guy. All of it is being paid for by our landlord, so I don't know what his price range is, but you could find out. He's been very dependable, hardworking and honest. He and his wife are very nice people and they both seem pretty passionate about working on houses. (He brings his wife a lot of the time and she helps out).

Best thing to do is go to angieslist.com and join. You will get reliable opinions about all kinds of services. I have used it and it is right on the money every time.

We used Frederick's roofing after the storms of 2006 (a 100-year-old oak fell on our house) and they were great. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, they showed up when promised, they stayed within budget and they did great work. Total pros!!

For handyman jobs: Mr. Handy ###-###-####. I've had him do a couple of small jobs in our house. He's very reasonable. I was happy with his work, and he did it pretty quickly too.

I am in sales for an insulation company for over 15 years and deal with general contractors everyday. I could lead you in a good direction for someone who is honest and dependable. I also have a cousin who does handyman work as well for those smaller projects. Most contractors will give free estimates of costs.
