The Drs at Kids First were the best doctors at Pediatric Health Associates and went off on their own. Myself and several of my friends have all left Pediatric Health Associates for various reasons (let's just say that none of us would recommend them). Most of us moved over to Kids First and are very happy.

I don't know where your located at, but I go to Dupage Pediatrics there in Darien. Recommended by Hinsdale Hosp. I love the doctors there. And they have weekend and week night appointments.

We use Pediatric Health Associates for our daughter since she was a newborn. There's been some turnover in terms of the younger physicians, but Dr. Wall the director, has been there for years and he is terrific, although we like them all. (When our daughter was hospitalized for RSV, Dr. Wall came for a personal visit at Edward). They are thorough, take time to answer all questions, and provide developmentally appropriate info at each stage. They are always available and the doctor on call has always responded quickly and professionally.

Hi V. -

I live on the borderline of Plainfield and Bolingbrook, and I really like DuPage Medical Group, usually go to their Plainfield facility. My two boys go to Dr. Joseph Russell. I highly recommend him.

I have taken my almost three year old daughter to Kids First Pediatrics for the last year - since we moved to Plainfield last summer. We have been lucky and not been there more than two or three times but have liked both Dr. Liberty and Dr. Kovar. Both are really great with our daughter and really take time to hear your concerns and talk with you. I have also had quick responses when just making calls into the nurse.

Dr. Russel from Dupage Medical Group is absolutely amazing! He is not a medicine pusher and answers all my questions completely! I live in Ottawa and drive all the way to Plainfield! If that tells you anything!

I have recently switched to Kids First from PHA. I would have switched sooner but insureance issues. My kids love Dr Kovar & Dr Liberty. I called on a Saturday when my 11 year old had been fighting something & I was really getting nervous after she missed 4 days of school & no sign of getting better. They were willing to get me in even though they were going to be closing. They didn't rush us & listened to all the details. My son also has Asthma & has seen Dr Kovar for his quarterly checkups. He has a great bedside manor...first time I ever had my son laughing in a doctor's office!

PHA was good but I was getting concerned with all the turnover. Nurses & staff were great but I always felt I was spending more time in the waiting room then in the office. Not sure why that was.

You may have to check with Kids First if they are accepting patients. I remember them asking me if I had seen the doctors at the old practice & maybe they weren't accepting new patients at the time. Not sure. Don't quote me.

Hope that helps.

I have been with the practice for 7 years with both of my children. I have had a good experience throughout. At times, however, I have wished there was not so much turn over with the doctors in the office. Each time I take a kid in, I feel they are meeting my kid for the first time. The doctors have been successful with diagnosing my infant with acid reflux (I was so glad at that time. Once they gave him the medicine I had a new, happy baby!) I also like the fact that they have 2 offices Plainfield and Naperville. This came in handy after I moved from Plainfield to Downers Grove.

Kids First is a group of doctors who came from PHA. I would interview them both. I go to PHA and I am VERY happy. The staff is kind and helpful. The doctors take time with you and don't rush you out. They have recently added many doctors and I have met most of them, I like them all! Many of them have brought specialties with them. Dr. Wall is great. Dr. Brinkman is great. They have a doctor (his name is escaping me) who specializes in ADD/ADHD and other disorders. I have never been dissappointed. I also liked the doctors who left PHA to open Kids First, so either way you can't go wrong. Best of luck!

My husband and I take our son to Pediatric Health Associates in Naperville. I like the hrs and the fact that they have many doctors in the practice. So far, we've liked all the doctors we've seen. We picked them before Cooper was even born. They have a meet and greet where you get the chance to meet one of the doctors and ask questions. That was a nice feature. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I see Dr. Chad Olsen at Millenium Pediatrics -- he is at 95th and Naper/Plainfield Rd -- been going to see him for 8 years. Like him a lot.

I use Kids First and think they are GREAT. Dr. Kovar is excellent with kids and was the first dr. that my daughter saw without crying.

I personally had a bad experience with PHA. I read the responses and most people seem to like them, but they would not get my 1 yr old son in for an appt after a long weekend because they were booked and it turned out that he had a double ear infection.

Dr. Kovar & Liberty were from PHA.

This is just my opinion. Good luck.

We have been going to Pediatric Health Associates for the past 9 years and have been very happy there. I have always recommended them to our friends. We have our favorite doctors, but they all have been great. We go to the Naperville office, but I am pretty sure it's the same docs at the Plainfield office. I hope this helps.
