KinderCare Experiences?

We are moving soon, and I am looking at daycare/preschool options for my 3 yr old son. We really love our current daycare, so it will be tough to find a place as good as this one! Anyhow...
Any experiences with KinderCare? Are they a big corporation that do not care about your child (some comments I saw on the internet claim so), or are they decent?
I will tour the center before making any decisions, but just wanted to have some opinions from experienced mamas out there.
i will also see a few other centers of course...
By any chance, you have any experiences with daycare options around Shrewsbury/Worcester MA area?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have visited and took a tour of the center. The answer was "NO"!

totally depends on the center. I go to one in N. Dallas near my home and I know most of the teachers, even ones that didn't teach my son. The center director knows my son's name. I visited one that was also close to my home and just didn't get the same positive vibe. Visit, get a feel for them, ask questions.

I'm sure it depends on the individual center. My son was in a pre-K part time program for 3 months . He LOVED it and we had no problems.

I know of some good ones and some bad ones. You'll need to personally tour and interview any facility you're considering.

I LOVE the KinderCare that my son goes to. The women there are wonderful.

While it is a big corporation, the staff is what I worry about! I'm one that goes by atmosphere and the people that will be caring for my kids.

I checked MANY different places. I suggest the same. There are advantages and disadvantages to a big corp owned place. I'm not in WI, but I cannot imagine I'd do any different in another state vs what I did here in MI.

You have to go and tour the centers. I saw 2 very different KinderCare's. One was good the other was how fast can i leave. It really depends on the caregivers and you need to see how they interact with the kids, so go during a busy time not nap time.

The only downfall with KinderCare is it is very expensive. It was going to cost me almost $420 a week for both girls, I might as well not work for that kind of money.

It was ok for us. It was just so sterile and uncomfortable and the teachers always called my daughter Julie and wrote "Julie" on all of her things even after I told them a billion times that her name is JULIA. Overall, I guess it was an alright place, but I've seen better.

It ABSOLUTELY depends on the individual center. Around here, they have a terrible reputation, mostly because they pay low and the turnover (both teachers and families) is high. But that's because there are many child care options in our community. So Kinder Care tends to attract people that are looking for the cheapest option, not necessarily the best.
You will get a better feel once you do the tour. It may be a wonderful facility, I'm just giving you the perspective from where I live (Northern California.)

I worked for them 14 years ago, and it was ok then. My oldest was there for a month and hated it, but loved a different place I took him. I guess it just depends.

Love, love, love KinderCare! Our daughter was at a KinderCare facility from 18 months to 3.5 years. She had some of the best caregivers I could have ever hoped for. They were all loving, and generous.

Our son was in the infant care center for about 2 months (we moved and my husband started working from home that is the only reason they did not return)

As well as one of my best friends is a Director of a KinderCare facility and my kids have often been to her facility and rec'd the same love and devotion as they did in their previous one.

I am even FB friends with many of their previous teachers. They get updates and still love to hear about the kids.

I love our KinderCare! My oldest went thru about 4 years ago, and my middle child is currently enrolled since January.

Our KinderCare was privately owned by Mulberry before being bought by KinderCare approx 5 years ago. We love the staff. In fact, many of the staff are the same now as when my oldest attended 4 years ago. Goes to show, there isn't a lot of staff turn-over (at least at our facility), so they must be a great company to work for. Many of the programs/classes/curriculum have actually changed for the better since the transition to KinderCare.

Highly recommended!
