Kettering Medical Center - Also Sibling Classes

I delivered at Kettering and felt like I did not recieve the kind of care that I expected. Not sure if the nurses felt like they didn't need to educate me on my first-born because I am also a nurse or what- but I felt left in the dark about a lot and remeber thinking that it was a good thing that I knew all the questions to ask! I did my nursing clinicals at Southview and remember their rooms being bigger and nicer- the nurses more caring and knowledgable as well. I do know many people who have great experiences with both places though! Just go with your gut!

I am pretty sure OBGYN South does not deliver at Southview - only Kettering. I go to OBGYN South and back in 2008 when I had my 2nd, they were still only delivering at Kettering. So you may want to call and ask because that may give you an answer. I have had good experiences and know others that delivered there and didn't have any issues with Kettering either.
Also I did take our daughter to the sibling prep class at Kettering Med. She was about 3 and 1/2 maybe a bit older. She really enjoyed it so I don't think your son is too young.

A., congratulations on the new baby! I delivered at Southview and had the best experience. I was a scheduled C-section so I just walked in for my appointment but the nurses were wonderful from the get go! I had some minor anesthesia problems before and after the birth. Everyone was so comforting and so helpful. When a nurse suggested a solution to a symptom, 10 minutes after they left the room it was happening! I only have one son so I don't know about the sibling classes but I do know that the classes my husband and I took before the delivery were the biggest waste of time and money. Not helpful at all!
