Hi. My husband and i have realized lately we don't have any friends we can really hang out with or that we can talk to about things! My husband is a very quiet person at first but once you get to know him he is amazing! We are young and need people around our age that we can hang out with. All of our friends are still in highschool or just graduated. They don't understand why we can't hang out later or what it's like being a parent! So we never really go anywhere and our son never really gets to play with other kids(he's 9 months). So if there are any young families out there like mine or you have any ideas please let me know!
Thanks so much!
S.

Hi S., It's free to join meetup.com and search your area for "meetups" for young families or hobbies you like or whatever interests you have. Check it out, I'm sure you will find something you are interested in and then start meeting people that way. Good luck!

Well, I can't really help you on finding people your age, but I do have a suggestion for meeting friends. I am a part of MOMS Club and I highly recommend it. There are weekly activities for the kids in addition to playgroups and monthly Mom's Night Out. You can attend as much or little as you're interested in. I know SO much more about fun things to do with kids in our area than I even had any idea existed before. And it's just nice to have a social outlet for both me and the kids and a support network. They brought me meals for 2 weeks when I had my daughter. It's very regional, so everyone in my chapter lives very near to me, which is convenient. To find a chapter near you go to www.momsclub.org My chapter only costs $23/year

As far as the age thing goes, I'm the youngest member of my MOMS Club, but we still enjoy each other's company. I'm 26 now, but I also got married young--I was 19--and I am very happily married to a wonderful man. Enjoy the ride!

S.,
I'm much older than you , probably could be your mother's age or older but see if there are any programs around where you live. Usually through parks and rec or library will have something where it is geared around the kids age and you might meet new friends that way. I am always the oldest of the moms (until one mom I met who's older) but figure that if you and your husband are high school/freshman college age that even parents 5 to 10 years older really aren't that much older when you have kids. It's a whole different world than those without kids no matter what age. lol

Hello S. when I had my 1st child my husband just turned 18 & me 19. It was hard since all but one of our friends had no kids and where living the same as in high school while we had to work and be a family. We ended up finding people not quite our age to hang out with but who still have the same interests. Having a kid makes you mature alooot so it is hard being a young parent trying to hang out with people your own age. I live in queen creek and a sahm with a 21month old however im 26 (im old :( ) but if you need company im not old old.
