I had them in my old house and LOVED them. I put them together myself and my ex and my dad installed them...it can't be too difficult if you're somewhat handy. They stored a lot, and they looked beautiful - like a custom kitchen. I miss that kitchen every single day. My favorite parts were the huge drawers where I stored my Tupperware, pots/pans, and bowls. Nothing got lost or shoved way in the back and it stayed very well organized.
My brother has had white ones for about 5 years and they've held up very nicely. I don't think you'll regret it. :)

We had Ikea cabinets in our last house and LOVED THEM! I'd never have thought to go with Ikea, but our architect showed us a really beautiful kitchen in her portfolio. The kitchen belonged to a chef client of hers and I was just stunned at how pretty it was. Our architect said that since the chef's budget was a certain amount and he wanted to spend almost all of it on appliances, she had recommended Ikea cabinets. I was sold! So we bought the cabinets and my hubby (a contractor) put them together and was able to fabricate a few filler pieces for the areas where we did not have cabinets (like the 1 foot to each side of the range) - so there was a little bit of custom work involved - but in any case they were great and altogether I think our cabinets cost about $5K for a good-sized kitchen. Amazing since the lowest "custom" cabinet bid was around $15K, on up to $50K. I liked that all the drawers had the slow-close feature where they don't slam shut. Loved that I could have almost all drawers and no cabinets. We ended up getting really beautiful granite countertops and professional appliances. I'm telling you, when you have a Viking range, everyone thinks you spent a fortune on your cabinets.

I'd recommend them! Especially if you're handy and can assemble them yourself, you'll save a ton of money and they are quite well made in my experience.

The only thing I'd maybe steer clear of is wood floors in the kitchen. We had them, too, and you have to really pay attention to wiping up spills so the wood doesn't buckle. In our kitchen in our current house we put in tumbled marble and sealed it, and it worked well. (To save money, they make ceramic tile that looks exactly like real marble - I saw some at Home Depot for about $1/ft and was mad I had paid so much for the real thing!)

Happy remodeling!

Have you bought anything at Ikea?? I do not have cabinets but have other things from there (I love Ikea) and all things furniture come in many, many pieces. Just something to think about and check out for yourself before buying.

Good Luck and happy kitchen remodel.

We had them in our old place and were very happy with them. We had the white ones. The doors and drawers slid nicely, they had lots of storage, and there were endless configurations so we got a set that fit perfectly in the space we had.

My husband did the installation itself to save some money. It was time consuming but not difficult. The only hard part was cutting the counter to the right size.

Yes! We have the red cabinets, completely re did our kitchen 3 years ago and they've held up beautifully. We added the nice stoppers too so the drawers close slow and quiet. Their drawer organizers are great too. We love them, great bang for your buck...

It is a great product.
So many remodeled homes now feature Ikea kitchens and bathrooms and are great.

We had them in our condo about 5 years ago. I LOVED THEM!!! We didn't buy the garage ones but the next white ones. I mixed it up a little and did two top cabinets with the glass windows to see the china - it wasn't a major change in price but made a big difference in the overall appearance. We will be remodeling our kitchen at this house and I wouldn't mind having IKEA again. (Have to hope your kitchen matches their dimensions though) good luck and enjoy your new kitchen!!

We installed them in the kitchen/breakroom of our office a few years ago. I really liked them. They seem to have held up well.
