I am making DVD's for my kid's classes I am running out of ideas without going to the old standbys. I have used:
My Wish- Rascal Flatts,
Friend In Me-Randy Newman,
All Star-Smashmouth,
The Future has Arrived-All American Rejects,
Forever Young-Rod Stewart,
We Rock-Camp Rock,
Breakaway-Kelly Clarkson and
Welcome to Where ever you Are-Bon Jovi

Since they are in 2nd and 3rd grades they want happy upbeat songs, it is more for them then the parents. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am really trying hard not to use Good Riddance-Green Day, please help.

So What Happened?

I have decided to use On My Way from Brother Bear by Phil Collins and Celebrate You by Corbin Bleu for the 2nd grade one. Still not sure what to use for the 3rd grade one.

I love the songs that were suggested but, 3rd graders want something upbeat, and "cool". I might just have to go with the Green Day song.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Did you think of Little Wonders by Rob Thomas? It's a great song and it was a song in Meet the Robinsons.

I have done this for our girls soccer teams and preschool graduation and 2nd grade classes, it's always so fun and the kids love it, great idea.
I would suggest songs off Disney channel, also the Curious George/JackJohnson CD, they have some great songs for kids on there, Lizzie McGuire movie Dreams are made of, by Hillary Duff, any of the Disney Channel music is really upbeat and great for kids, Miley Cyrus, Mitchell Musso.-Lean on Me, Over the Rainbow (off of 50 1st dates soundtrack is always a great one but tear jerker for parents ;) ) Walkin on Sunshine, Disney's Friends for Change, High School Musical soundtracks always have good ones too.
Good luck!

Hi! We did this last year and the kids loved it!

A couple of upbeat songs we used were, Celebrate Good Times by Kool and The Gang and We are the Champions by Queen.

Beautiful Day by U2 might also work. Good Luck, I know this can be a lot of work and it is awesome you are doing it for your kid's classes.
