Even if he doesn't want to eat, you need to keep his fluids up. Pedialyte and Gatorade will keep his electrolytes up. If he's getting weak, get him to the Dr asap. He might end up in the hospital with an IV to get him hydrated again.
Depending on what is causing the diarrhea, you might want to stay away from (cows) milk and juice. (Breast milk is always fine.) If the cause is bacterial, the sugar in the juice will make it worse. The sweetener in Pedialyte the bacteria can't use. Water is not bad, but it won't keep the electrolytes balanced.

It could be teething but due the weakness I would be taking my kid to the doctor ASAP. It could be nothing but in my opinion it is always better to be safe than sorry. Best wishes

This doesn't sound like teething to me! If he is getting weak enough to fall over when he walks, you really need to get him to the doctor! It sounds like he might have a virus.

Yeah i would definetely go to the doctors with him. he shouldnt be getting that weak, unless he just isnt eating or sleeping at all. It wouldnt hurt to have him looked at. Good luck i hope he gets better soon.

If the diareaha is that bad enough to make him weak it's probley not teething. I would call your doctor right now and tell them what is going on. I hope your little guy starts feeling better soon!

I'd be calling the pediatrician immediately (especially since it's Friday). The weakness isn't normal.

Before giving any kind of electrolyte supplement, you really need to ask your pediatrician what their opinion. Ours prefers it only as a last resort after milk, water, juice because of the young age.

The diarrhea could be from a number of things, there may be a virus going around that he's gotten and is having a tough time getting past.

Good luck. Hope he's better soon.

Please get him to the Emergency Room for an IV now. Dehidration in a child is nothing to fool with - it doesn't matter why he's having diareaha - if he's dehidrated, then that's a problem.
No, this is not normal.
God bless.

This is not normal. He is most likely dehydrated from the diarrhea. Get him some pedia sure or some gatorade, propel, smartwater- what ever he will drink.

If he does not drink, take him to the ER as he may need IV fluids!

Definitely not normal, get him to your pediatrician ASAP. I agree he probably is dehydrated. Get some pedialyte or some pedialyte pops but definitely get him to the pediatrician!

If you are really concerned take him to the dr of course. What I did/do in times that my son won't eat well is just go ahead and get some Pediasure and supplement his diet. I haven't done this alot but when it is several days that he wouldn't eat then I would go ahead and get him some until he started back up eating well. However, call the dr if you get really worried, and make sure, above all else, that he is drinking.
