I am a 22 year old mother to a 3 1/2 months old son who is a wonderful baby. He doesn't cry much and he already sleeps all night! I have been married a year now so Im lucky haha! I am wondering if I may be pregnant again. I have had a hard time remembering to take my birth control pills and have often missed. I noticed a few days ago that my breasts were sore and tender to the touch but I thought maybe the pill or my period. I just had my period about two weeks ago but I still just assummed it was my period. But then yesterday I noticed a 'fullness' feeling to my breasts, as if I was breast feeding again. I stopped taking him to the breast about 8-9 weeks ago and I stopped pumping at about 7-6 weeks ago. I dried up fast when I stopped pumping, so I haven't had this fullness feeling since I was taking him to the breast. I noticed over the weekend some white mucus and my husband and I had sex over that period of time. Keep in mind we dont use any protection and I have not been remembering to take my pill everyday. Right after having intercourse I noticed pain on my right ovary a little on my left as well, but it was more on the right. I think I was ovulating that night. So is there anychance I could be pregnant again? or could it just be ovulation causing my breasts to act this way?
5/9/08- AN UPDATE
My breasts are still sore.. they are not as sore as they were when I was pregnant with my son, so that is throwing me off. I started to have some heartburn yesterday, and that was the sign in my pregnancy with my son that made me suspicious. Again, the heartburn is not that bad as it was with my son. I also noticed today being very tired even though I had enough sleep last night, and moodiness today. I also had cramping today as if I was about to start my period which isn't due for another two weeks. I know some people say you are more intune with your body after you have had a child. Is that what is going on with me? or are these just pms symptoms?? I have to wait 2 more weeks.I think I ovulated between the 4th and the 9th and AF should come around the 23rd.so we will see!!

Thanks for all of your input and opinions! Thank you for your great advice.. I did start my period.. due to my doctor telling me to stop the pill incase of pregnancy.. So I am not pregnant.. I'm a disappointed but we are okay with it!! Thanks to all.. and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
Could just be ovulation. I remember for at least the first three months after my son was born (he's 6 months now) that I kept thinking I was having pregnancy symptoms every month. That feeling of being pregnant was still so fresh in my mind. But if you're missing pills there is a good possibility. Good luck to you D.!
Sounds like your were ovulating...all the classic symptoms for ovulating, but that still doesn't ensure that you'll get pregnant. You could be. My oldest was 5 months old when I got pregnant with my 2nd and it was all due to me and my husband not remembering for him to put on his condom. It took one time. Even though I was upset at first, I would do it all over again. Having them close together was wonderful. Hard at first having a 14 month old and a newborn, but wonderful as they got older. My husband and I actually wanted to continue that with our 3rd and 4th, but then our 3rd didn't live and then as I'm getting older, I can't seem to get pregnant as easy anymore. We actually talked about having another on the way home from the hospital with our 4th and we tried, but finally it took 2 years to get pregnant.
All I'm saying that if you are, it would be wonderful. (There will be a lot of mixed feelings at first, but the ending is wonderful.) Wait a couple of weeks and check it out.

I would say that it is definitely possible and only a test could let you know for sure. I have a son who is two and my daughter is almost 4 months, I am still breastfeeding and taking a mini pill birth control every day. Getting pregnant again so soon after her birth would be very upsetting for me. So my heart goes out to you. I am super paranoid about becoming pregnant myself so when I started felling what I thought to be those familiar pregnancy symptoms and missed a period. I immediately took a test. For my case I guess I missed my period because my body has not quite returned to normal since giving birth. Hence may be the case with you. I know you have to be scared out of your mind. I would contact your OB/GYN to see if you can get a blood pregnancy test. It would be positive from the day of conception. Are you taking any prenatal vitamins? You should, just in case. There are some over-the-counter with the vitamin section. Stop stressing about it, you can make your symptoms worsen due to stress. Interested to find out the outcome.

I am a 40 year old woman and it seems that you may be ovulating. But who knows truthly, but at the age that I am, that's what it sounds like.
hmm...hard to say for sure. It seems like very early pregnancy is so varied for each person and each pregnancy. It sounds like a possibility, for sure, but not a definite likelihood. I know lots of people who HAVE gotten pregnant on the pill so....You'll have to keep us posted on this one
I went through the exact same thing that you are going through... My grandmother told me that you are most fertile after giving birth hence higher chances of getting pregnant then... I have 3 kids - back to back to back. Yup, get pregnant each time right after delivery....
Yes you could be pregnant. Take a test. and just curious why did you stop BF so soon?
It sounds like you could be. If you have problems remembering to take the pill maybe you should try another form of birth control. I am on the depo shot which is great because you only have to remember about it every 3 months. Also 2 of my friends use the Mirena IUD and have no problems whatsoever. Just a suggestion.
Obviously, I can't tell you if you are pregnant or not--but I can tell you that my children are only 13 months apart so it is possible (very possible) to become pregnant again so quickly after childbirth. God bless you!
I got pregnant when my daughter was 10 months old and I was still breastfeeding her, and had a period while I was breastfeeding within 6 months of having both of my children, so it's possible.
Could be any or all of the above. If you guys are going to rely on the pill, you have to figure out a way to remember. Even if it's an alarm on a watch -- or just keep your pills by your toothbrush. If you are, that's close but it's been done and your "delayed twins" will have a very close relationship. You may want to look into alternate forms of birth control, though. Maybe an IUD -- so you don't have to rely so heavily on remembering. As a mother to a little one, it's hard to remember to get dressed sometimes!
It could be a good possibility you are pregnant. You can get pregnant even if you are breastfeeding. I know you said you stopped a nearly two months ago with breastfeeding. You can start to ovulate very soon after you stop breastfeeding and sometimes even before you stop. I would get checked as soon as you can. I would not rely on over the counter tests too much. I took 5 of them and even had a blood test that came back negative but I was indeed pregnant! the pain you feel is your ovaries working to release the egg... Sperm can live in a moist environment for up to 5 days. So, say you and hubby have "time together" 2 weeks after your cycle and do not use any protection , you will get pregnant. There is a window of maybe 2 days after your cycle that you are considered "safe" to have unprotected "love". There is a good book you should get that will explain all about the woman's cycle and can even help you decide what birth control you would like to use. It is called " Take Charge of your Fertility" By Toni Weschler MPH You can buy it from Amazon.com or Toys R US. And if you are Congratulations again! Your Son will have a playmate!
It sounds like your symptoms, so far, are classic symptoms of ovulation. Whether or not you conceived will have to wait for about 4 weeks after your most recent period, usually 2 weeks after ovulation.
Most importantly though- unless you are okay with getting pregnant again in the near future, change your birth control method! The patch is once a week, the ring is once a month, the shot is once every three months, and the IUD is once every 5 years. Research the methods, decide what you feel comfortable using, and take control of your fertility!
Sounds like you are pregnant to me!!! Congrats if you are. I couldn't take the pill, but I loved the IUD because they insert it and then you are set for 7 years!! You may want to rethink your family planning options. There are so many more options available within the last 15 years that you don't have to take every day.
