How Often Does/Did Your 3 Month Old Feed?

Just curious how often everyone's babies fed around three months. My daughter has fed 7 times a day since she was about a month old. She has gone for 5 hours at a time between the last evening's feeding and the middle of the night feeding almost about the same time. It seems now she is transitioning to only six feedings per day. She's still gaining weight (and is actually somewhere around the 70% for weight and length), so I'm not worried about that. I'm just really curious. Hope you all are enjoying your babies!!

A.- I have a 3 month old girl as well who is almost 4 months... she has been all over the board! She is now 14 pounds and it almost seems like the bigger she gets the hungrier she is.. She also went down to 6 feedings, but has recently in the last two weeks been waking up at night more frequently. She is also big for her age, and so unpredictable! ;)
I stay home... there are many things you can do! I have saved a lot of money by not working actually!

My baby girl is 2 months 3 weeks. At the beginning I was concern if she was eating too much or too little just as you. But my baby's doctor gave me a chart as a guide of how much she should be eating.
//1-2months 5 to 7 times a day 3 to 5onz per bottle//.//2-3months 4 to 6 times a day 4 to 7onz//.//3-4 months 4 to 6 times a day 5 to 8 onz.//
As I noticed with my baby she eats more during the day 5 bottles and she eats less at night just one at 3 am. The funny part is that she is making her own schedule.
But your baby is doing just fine like mine.
Good Job!

I used to enjoy the fact that my second born slept so well and didnt nurse so often. If it was up to my 3 month old now, he'd nurse all the time. :) However, its usually every 3 hours, although he likes to use me as a pacifier to sleep. I wish he would just stop waking up for at least six hours at night. My daughter and son used to sleep the six straight hours when they were three months old.

My son is 4 1/2 months old and he does (and did at 3 months) eat about every 2-4 hours. I know that seems like a big gap but it all depends on if he is napping or not. He is a good size, 14 lbs., but my daughter at 3 months was only about 9 lbs and she ate like clock work every 2 hrs. I think when they are bigger they eat more and stay full longer. He also started sleeping through the night at about 2 weeks old and my daughter was about 5 months.

My oldes probably about 7-8 times, and my youngest maybe 12 times.

As long as she is gaining and peeing at least 6 times a day, she is fine. I would be nervous to drop below 6 nursing sessions, personally. But again, output is your best judge of how much she is actually getting.

Hi A.! I am interested in the responses you get!! I have 7 week old twins and I can't remember what my 4 year old's feeding schedule was. I saw that you are looking for a way to work from home also. I work from home and was able to replace my teaching income, I would LOVE to help you stay home too! My website is www.behomewithfamily.com you can get some information there and we can talk later!

Hi A.,

My 3 month old feeds about every 3 to 3.5 hours, but usually goes for a 4-5 hour stretch at night (occasionally 6 hours).

I know what you mean about trying to stay home. I'm not looking forward to going back to work at all. I am really enjoying staying home with the baby and watching her grow and change - I don't want to miss anything. I've tried some Internet searches looking for telecommuting jobs, but have not had any luck. If I run across anything I'll let you know.

My son just turned four months yesterday and used to eat 5 ozs every three hours. Now he is eating cereal and he eats 5 ozs every four hours. As long as she is hungry let her eat. If she isn't hungry then she won't cry for it or eat it all.

My daughter was about where your daughter is now. She eats about 7 times a day at 4 1/2 months, and probably ate about 8 times a day when she was 3 months. She definitely started eating less often once she was able to sleep most of the night. On good nights, she is asleep by 8pm and wakes up to eat around 5 am.

My son is now 5 months, and if I remember right, that's about how often he was eating at 3 months. As he slept longer throughout the night, his number of feedings decreased. He was at six for a while, and now within the last several weeks he has gotten down to five (sleeps 10-11 hours straight). Of course he's now eating solids once or twice a day - fruit at mid morning and sometimes a vegetable at night.

I have a 3 month old and he breast feeds every 2 hours. I average about 6 times a day with him. He has been this way since he was born. I keep waiting for him to go to every 2 1/2 or 3 hours!! He does go 6 hours at night though, so I can't complain.
