Hairs on My Chinny Chin Chin Are Driving Me Crazy!

So a minor problem, but irritating. I have a few (6-12) coarse hairs, both light and dark, that grow on either side of my chin. I swear that if I let them grow, I would be like a catfish!! LOL- what a visual- sorry!! Laser treatments didn't work, waxing is +/-, and the daily plucking is endless (I swear I can feel them long before they are long enough to pluck!) I am really self-conscious about them, as sometimes I catch them "glistening" in the light while driving in my car- who else can see them??
I bought a great magnifying mirror that helps me nab the short hairs before I can really see them, but it's such a pain!
Anyone have success with electrolysis? Any other ideas?

What can I do next?

Glad I am not alone. I have about 5 that drive me nuts. I keep plucking them hoping they will get tired of growing. lol . I also tease my adults kids that everytime I do something extra nice for them that is one more chin hair they have to pull for me when I get old and can't see them. They think I am kidding!!!! lol

You only have 6-12 hairs on your chin!?? I spend about an hour every week tweezing then threading all my facial hair with a Bellabee. If I had just a few hairs, I'd do a quick check in the magnifying mirror each morning, pluck 'em.... then count my blessings!

Well I am bit like Fiona on Shrek I suppose, I lightly run a razor over my chin and upper lip. I don't use any shaving cream or anything like that but I daily, or every other day shave it off. It is better than always plucking, I mean who has time for that! Then I never have to worry about little hairs popping up, I just use a light touch bc it is my face and I never have a problem, good luck!!

I've started getting those too over the past 5 years or so (mid 30's) and I just pluck them as they start to re-grow.

Hairs on your chin is often an indication of a underactive thyroid. I know it was for me and I am in my mid-thirties. The bigger issue is have you had a blood test in the last 6 months to rule out thyroid issues? As far as getting rid of the hair, waxing and plucking are the cheapest and best solutions. Never shave!!

Electrolysis removed all of my annoying chin hairs. Years later I am still happy that I spent the money. Now I would like to do my underarms. I tried laser for that area and it is great for awhile but definitely not as permanent as electrolysis.

Are you sure you got enough laser treatments? It can often take up to six zaps-which is expensive, but we're talking life-long annoyance here. Those really work on the dark hairs (but not light ones) if you have light skin. Maybe you need to go to a different laser place, let everything grow in full thickness, (shaving only) and then zap away like crazy. Electrolysis is usually claimed not to be as effective as laser. I would SERIOUSLY recommend zapping as many as you can permanently before you go gray (laser won't work on gray). Once you zap as many as you can permanently, pluck AND shave the rest every day. Pluck to get rid of them for longer, shave daily to make sure none are glistening (they don't need to get that long). Six to twelve hairs is not that many, plucking and shaving take only seconds. But if I were you I would zap the dark ones while you can.

I get them too and I am glad to know that I am not alone. They are awful! I usually use some type facial hair remover cream and that will work for a week or more. Otherwise I just pluck them. Never Never Never shave them! That only makes them grow back thicker, darker and more frequently.

I have been doing electrolysis treatments for about a year now. The results are great but it is a process, I go once every four weeks to have the hairs removed and I am just about finished with my facial area. I started going because I had some dark, coarse hairs on my lip and chin. I was liking the results so I started having her work on my eye brows and bikini area also. If you are only getting a few hairs done it will only take about 10 minutes per treatment to get those done. Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method and it doesn't matter what color the hair is. It is my understanding that laser hair removal works great on dark hair but it is not completely permanent in all cases.
