My kids found my gum.... now it's chewed up and in the carpet. Anybody know how to get it out?

Well according to Heloise, use a dry cleaning solvant, spray it on, leave for a cpl minutes then tap w/hammer til it releases. I saw her do that on. Also, 'freezing' it w/maybe ice may help too. Hope this helps, good luck.

I know this sounds weird, but it totally works. Heat up some plain white vinegar in a bowl, and get out an old toothbrush. Scrub the gum with the vinegar and toothbrush. It works like magic!!! You will be amazed!

My daughter had gum stuck in her polartech sweater and regular Shout stain remover in the trigger-spray bottle removed it easily. I soaked the gum area with Shout, and scraped it right off. I was planning to cut the pile shorter in order to get it out, but it was not necessary. Might depend on the material it is stuck in, but it is worth a try. Good luck.

I agree with the ice too. I've had this happen to me too and the ice took it right out.

I would try Goo Gone and ice.

Freeze it with ice and it should come off easy.

I've heard that peanut butter works too. Also, if you have a plush(ish) carpet, you could try very carefully cutting it out. Plush is pretty forgiving if you don't just hack at it.
