My best friend is finishing her college degree soon. I want to give her a gift that expresses our friendship as well as a tribute to the completion of her journey. She does NOT want any sort of party or praise for her accomplishment. She's already working int he field in which she's graduating, so the degree is the last hoop she had to jump through. Do you have any great gift ideas? We are in our 30's, so I don't want anything too young. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Are you thinking of a gift for me??? You just described me, except I am having a party for sure. I can't wait. HEHE. In a way I kind of "get" not wanting to go crazy celebrating because in a way I feel like it is about time I finished my degree. I already attended the ceremony but have a few credits to finish but after the ceremony I got a few gift cards so that was fun. My husband is getting me a cricut so I can resume scrapbooking again. So if someone got me a cartridge that would be cool. So if she had some hobbies something for that. I also got a coach laptop sleeve and breifcase cuz they had an awesome coach sale this past week. (the laptop sleeve was only like $50) but there are some super cute ones other places. Maybe take her out for drinks one night. Then it would be a casual mini celebration. (just don;t tell her that ;0) )

What about a really nice leather journal? Or if you know what kind of "cartoon" she likes you can get her a journal with the cartoon on the front. I know I still like cartoony things and I am in my early 30s... chugging quickly towards my middle 30's (hehe). What about taking her out to dinner instead? Do a girls night out. Get pedicures, see a movie, go shopping, and eat.
Gift cards are always nice. Does she like good smelly things? Bath and Body Works has great scents. You can get her a gift basket from there with a gift card to her favorite store.
I know I would love any of these things.

What is your price point? You can get a nice sterling silver bracelet from Tiffany's for about $150.

A nice bottle of wine and a personal card saying you're looking forward to sharing it with her over some nice conversation and girl time.

A gift certificate for the two of you to enjoy a spa day/half day together -- pedicure, facial, massage and a light lunch. After all her hard work just some fun to spoil yourselves a bit.

Tickets to a live performance of some kind -- whatever way your taste sways. A musical, symphony, stand up comedian, etc. Get great seats, go have dinner beforehand together and it could be a really fun gift.

Do a girls weekend trip to Vegas - or whatever casino area is closest to you -- put $100 on her card for her and have fun. (I can have fun sitting at the nickle slots... so hah.) Drive out together, share a hotel room.

Nothing says "I've arrived" like a Montblanc Fountain pen.
