I'm throwing a baby shower for a friend and we want to have it in a restaurant (our homes aren't big enough for the guest list). Any good restaurants in the Farmers Branch, Addison, Richardson, Carrollton (or really any metroplex) areas? I've never been to a shower that wasn't in someone's home.

Dovies. It's a restaurant off of Midway just south of Beltline in Addison. It's an old historic home turned restaurant. It's the former estate of actor Audie Murphey. I've been there for showers, receptions and business parties and teh food is delicious. Plus, you can't beat the atmosphere - it's like being in someone else's home. :)

I can tell you where NOT to go...The Melting Pot. All your shower gifts will smell like deep frying grease. Houston's in Addison might have a private room to have a shower...not sure if they do or not. But the food is great and atmosphere is superb.
