Enteral Feeding Supplies No Longer Covered Under Insurance

A couple of suggestions: Is your child on disability? This would not be an immediate solution but could provide some income....check out www.ssa.gov for more info on this.

Do you go to a clinic associated with a children's hospital? A hospital social worker would probably have some excellent resources. If feedings are only going to be needed for a few more months, maybe they could even get things donated. The home health provider currently providing the feedings might have an "indigent" fund that could give you feedings for free or at least reduced.

I don't know of any charities of the top of my head, but my husband and I have had great luck with getting supplies from online vendors at a pretty big discount. We were going through suppliers like Apria Healthcare and the were so outrageously expensive. We thought with the medical industry as it was we were just stuck paying that amount. After we researched a few sites we tried ordering that way and it's worked out great. Cheaper than out deductible/copay on much of it.

Try Catholic Charities. Even if you are not Catholic, they will help. I've heard great things about them. Also, other local churches usually can help you to find resources.

If you are in MO is your child receiving any First Steps Services. If not, contact your local school Districts Parents as Teachers Program. You will need to get a Regional Case Manager. If your child was in the NICU as an infant your child will qualify for services. They pay for a lot of therapies, and for equipment. If you need more information email me "____@____.com. I don't know if they can help but have you tried nurses for newborns. Not sure of the number but believe they have a website. They may know of some other charities if not.
