hello moms! i am looking for a diet pill (preferrably over the counter) to aid me in my weight loss. i am looking to lose about 18 pounds. i used to take bioburn for a while and i liked it, but gnc stopped carrying it. i don't know why. i can buy it on the internet but the fact that gnc stopped carrying it kind of raises a red flag to me. i have also been on hydroxycut and hated it (i am very sensitive to caffeine) and hydroxycut max (that was horrible-i stoped taking it after it made me throw up) so anyways, i have begun to watch my diet. i am not on a strict diet because that makes all the bad food talk to me until i eat it. i am just being more aware of what i'm putting in my mouth and staying away from the easter basket candy!! i am also exersizing. i have been doing p90x but it's almost impossible to do it the 7 days out of the week so i would say about 5 days out of the week on average. i am wondering if any moms out there have tried any and had any good or bad experiences. i know they are relitively unsafe if they're over the counter but i'm in a wedding in june and want to get rid of the jiggly for this summer. come fall i do not plan on taking them. even if that means weight gain. i know they aren't a permanent solution! thanks in advance for any advice!!

What can I do next?

Raw virgin coconut oil is reported over and over to cause leaner bodies because it increases metabolism and has a good effect on hormones and the thyroid.

SOY/CORN/HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP- if you can avoid each of these completely, you will loose weight. Soy ,(and other grains)is fed to cattle/hogs/chickens to fatten them before slaughter. Soy likes to put weight on around tummies. Soy or corn or corn syrup, is an ingredient in almost every processed food. Know the alternative names for these ingredients also. you should be able to find them online.

I never had any luck with them. Only thing that ever got rid of the jiggly for me was good old exercise.

My husband FINALLY used Slimplicity after much urging from me. He started Labor Day weekend and before Christmas he had lost 20 lbs!!!! So excited for him. He always worked out every morning, tired to eat less (maybe not better though - there is a difference) but still gained weight.
It is the healthiest weight loss program because you still get ALL the nutrition your body needs to be healthy and create a good metablism and immune system.
Here is the link for you to check out Slimplicity. Just email me back if you are interested. www.slimplicity.com
Good luck in whatever you decide to try!

I definitely concur with what everyone is saying regarding nutrition.

However, in a desperate attempt to lose some weight about a year ago, I tried Slimquick Cleanse. I loved it!!. I lost 10 lbs within two weeks. I kept going with a general meal plan that was like the one they provide in the box. I’m definitely not a nut and fish eater but I replaced it with lean meats and more veggies and fruit.

Dieting can be really hard and I've never was successful with it in the past, but this time it took me getting mentally prepared to ‘do the diet’ and it helped out so much. I bought the pills a week before my official start date, wrote it all out on a calendar. Mentally and verbally prepared myself and even told my mom I was ‘gunna do this!’. I made sure I had all the foods I would need for the next couple days and planned out the shopping trips grabbing ONLY things on the healthy list.

No fast food and THE HARDEST thing for me was NO soda!! I’m so addicted to the refreshing taste, it was tough but because I got myself so excited and thought about how great I was going to look in a few months every time I looked in the mirror it made it a little more worth it. To be honest, it probably wasn't the Slimquick that got me to lose the weight, it was the changes I made to my diet BUT it helped me stay motivated and feel like I was on a plan. I would buy it again and probably will after I have my baby and stop nursing.

A couple other tricks:
No eating after 7 (or 2-3 before you settle down for the night)
Fruit for breakfast and some yogurt. Fruit gets your metabolism going. (I have a SLOW metabolism but this really helped to get even mine burning)
A glass of warm water with some fresh squeezed lemon when you wake up, even before you start getting ready for the day
If you’re schedule doesn’t allow, or you just don’t want to get to the gym, be sure to fit in some activity somewhere in your day. Take the stairs vs the elevator or escalator park in the back of the parking lot. Be creative.
Detox first, flush your body of the bad stuff, let your digestive system start fresh and clean.

Seriously and honestly, if I can do it, anyone can. Dieting is SO much more than the pill you take, it truly is changing behaviors that have become only natural for us and becoming food smart. If you just keep encouraging yourself and believe you can do it, you can.

Feel free to send me a message if you have more questions or just need encouragement! :) Good luck!!

I do not know about this pill. Dieting is so hard and I hate to see people struggle. I have a great diet plan I would be happy to share with you if you are interested. There is no pill but there are things to help with your metabolism, energy and to help you maintain muscle while losing fat. You should not be hungry on this program so it may be easier to avoid thinking of "food." Good Luck whatever you decide.

Hi A.,

Weight loss is all about nutrition and a diet pill may speed things up for the wedding but you're right, the weight will probably come back. My husband lost 110 pounds on an absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex. I lost 15 pounds. The body adjust to where it is supposed to be IF you are actually absorbing the nutrition it needs.

The company that manufactures the vitamin I use also makes a fat burning bar that uses your own fat for energy and burns it from the beginning of a workout and not 20 minutes in. It also gives you a non sugar energy.

Let me know if you would rather go that route than the pill. Over the counter stuff can absolutely be dangerous because the FDA does not monitor anything but ingredients, never ingredients in combination. One a day and Centrum are dangerous because they create so many free radicals and most people don't take enough antioxidants to counteract them. Free radicals lead to disease, cancers, et.al.....

God bless!

Diet pills are no good in my opinion. Drinking a full glass of water before each meal will help you to feel full and more satisfied by a smaller portion and drinking water in between when you *think* you're hungry will help control hunger between meals. Choosing healthy snacks, portion control, water and exercise are the best and safest ways to lose weight. No one knows for sure the long term effects of diet pills.

This may not help bc they are prescriptions but my doctor prescribed adipex (phentermine) about $30 to me. The first month I lost 9 pounds and the second I didn't lose any. When I went back (you have to go as long as you are on it to check your BP) she changed me to capsules because she said some people do better with capsules than the pill. She also made the comment that if that didn't work then there was a pill used for diabetics to get rid of belly fat that I could use for about 2 months.

I walk three times a week and don't eat outside of 3 meals a day.
I gained weight from being on birth control and could never lose it so my doc agreed to let me try doctor-supervised weight loss pills.

No pills! Always take a high quality multi-vitamin. Maybe some extra protein to feed muscles. Diet pills are always coming on and off the market. You could take a bar that helps with craving or a protein bar. Watching what you eat is huge! You can loose weight by just swtiching some foods. I did! You can eat some treats occasionally! Otherwise you will not stick with it!
I would love to work together as I to am back on it! i am in a wedding in Sept. Good luck and shoot me a message and we can chat about what I do!

I don't know about taking pills. A friend of mine from lots weight with her husband by cutting out beef and not eatting lots of sugar. In the morning she would have oatmeal, a light health snack in after and have the big meal for dinner. They also took long walks and lifted some weights. It not only helped in weight but in other aspects as well. She is in her 40s and has 3 grown boys.

Chromium Picoinate is a trace mineal that plays a role in the metabolism of carbohydrate, protein and fat. You can find it in any store that sells vitamins and supplements. It is not a diet pill but a vitamin supplement. Ask one of the GNC people about it.

Why are you trying to find a diet pill? The answer to losing weight is simple - eat better food and exercise more. Eat LOTS of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, skip white foods and no candy. Walk, walk, walk. I should do it!
