Diaper Ointment off Plush Animals

How do you get diaper ointment off plush/stuffed animals. My daughters decided to play doctor or something with their stuffed animals and a couple got smothered with diaper cream. I have no problem throwing them away as a consequence. However, one of the stuffed animals was mine as a child and is special for me. Yes, I know I shouldn't have had it in their rooms.

Anyway, now I"m trying to get A&D ointment out of this vintage stuffed Mickey.

Any tips or tricks?

Thanks

My son did the same, and baby wipes actually worked like a charm! His was cream and not ointment, but you could still give it a try!

Wow, throwing them away as a consequence.

Let me get this straight. you use this on her. she has watched you use this, and was trying to take care of her stuffed animals the way Mom takes care of her.

and you want to throw them away to prove a point?

Seriously. I understand she used something that she shouldn't have. but isn't that your fault for leaving that item out for her to use?

I hope someone throws something you love out just cause you made a bad choice.

cut the girl some slack. she's a CHILD who is learning.

Since it's an animal important to you I'd take it to a dry cleaners and ask for help. Otherwise I'd wash it with warm soapy water. Scrape off as much ointment as you can and rub Dawn directly on Mickey. Dawn dish washing detergent has an ingredient that gets grease out. Wild life rescuers use it on live animals.

I've washed many stuffed animals in the washing machine and they come out looking like new.

Maybe hand wash with a good grease-busting dishwashing liquid (such as Dawn). I have found that Dawn has saved many a greasy gross mess from my clothes!
