Daughter Spits up Through Nose.

My daughter is 7 weeks old and has the same problem. She has reflux bad and we are trying several medications with her doctor to get things under control. She hasn't been gaining weight to well either. Deffinately mention it to your doctor. I would not put cereal in her bottle while she is this young unless your doctor thinks it is a good idea but generally it is not for babies this young. Her digestive track may be immature and adding something harder to digest may cause more problems. Holding your baby upright after feeding will help as well as keeping the booger bulb close by to suction out the spit up from her nose. You'll soon recognize her facial expressions for when she has a bubble and is about to errupt. Pick her up and burp her. Best of luck.

It is acid reflux. It is completely normal. If she is formula fed, try adding some cereal to her milk to hold it down. If she is breastfed and you can do the first sugestion, after she nurses, just put her in her car seat or something to keep her elevated for about 10-15 mins to allow the milk to go down good.

My daughter who is now 2/1/2 would spit up NON-STOP from birth until she was one and stopped taking the bottle. I was really concerned at first because the same kind of things would happen, it seemed like huge amounts, it was often that she would do it, sometimes it would even come out of her nose, etc... I talked to the pedi many times about it convinced she had a problem like acid reflux considering I have it and what not. She kept reassuring me that some kids are spitteruppers and some kids aren't. She was in fact right. She outgrew it. It wasn't fun. We took lots of extra clothes and I was constantly using wipees on her so she wouldn't stink. Also, I was worried I would and half the times my friends and family were easy targets when holding her. I can't saying there isn't anything underlying with your little one but at first it is kind of freaky when it happens and you worry then you get reassured that it is okay and you get used to it. Some kids just do it. Fun for us, right???

Hi.there J. my son done that when he was a baby and the doctor said it was due to acid reflux so when you go for your check up be sure to let the doctor know about the problem it may be nothing but it dont hurt to be on the safe side.good luck

My daughter spat up quite a bit when she was newborn. And occasionally it would come through her nose - not a lot, just a few drops. I noticed that it seemed to happen if she had a particularly big gas bubble that came up not too long after eating. I also started rubbing her back instead of patting to burp her. This helped the bubbles come up slowly and let the milk stay down better....I realize this may be in my head, but I'm not the only one it makes sense to :-) Keeping her upright after eating seems a good idea. Also, if you're nursing, try laying down to nurse. This can help your milk not let down so hard - so your baby won't be gulping (or swallowing as much air when she eats.
